Completed Report Apparently Never Existed

Okay, I am beyond angry right now. Today I did a shop that didn't particularly go well, but I did it and I completed the report and submitted it within six hours, like this particular MSC requires. Got a confirmation page and everything. I just got a notice email stating that I am past due and will be unassigned from the job. I spent a good half hour on this shop and I am so upset that I can do work and have it not be acknowledged. I would understand if I didn't receive payment because I messed up on the report, but this is different. When I log into their website, it shows that I haven't done the report, despite completing it and receiving confirmation hours ago. What happened to it? Now my rating will be affected. I wish I'd saved the confirmation page...

Edit: Writing on my phone when tired apparently makes me ramble and repeat words a little too much. Oops.

OMG you didn't save the confirmation????

Or write the number down???

I do stupid things like that.

Trust me, you have friends here yawning smiley)

Always save it.

I always save it until I receive my grade.

I would be tempted to contact my scheduler.

Hey wait...did you try restarting your computer? Sometimes that works for me.

" I think there's a nap for that."
I print the confirmation page for this company and then go inside and made sure it says "pending."
Sometimes I take a screenshot of the confirmation page, but I often just save the number, and enter it into my Excel spreadsheet.

Kelly, if you have the number, contact the scheduler and/or company in the morning. Perhaps it was just a glitch in their system. In the past, I have received overdue notices for shops that were not overdue.
I too save the confirmation number--just copy and past it into my Excel spreadsheet. I feel sure that the company in question here is the one that has a separate part of the website to upload receipts, so after saving the confirmation number I go over there to upload the receipt and because my issue with them in the past has been lost receipts (back in the day when you mailed or emailed receipts), my screen shot is of the receipts page showing 'pending' that would indicate that something was uploaded.

Pop off an email to your scheduler now, letting them know the shop was done and reported but that you did not save the confirmation number and "I need your help." Then in the morning, call.
I have done reports for a company that only gives you six hours. If it is the same one, I've had those notices as well. It doesn't necessarily mean your report hasn't gone through.
I have gone back and checked to make sure I can't access the report. If I can't, then I know it has gone through. If I can, I will hit "resend" and resubmit it (just to make sure).
I also send the scheduler a note letting her know, and include the confirmation number if I got one. Since it's the week-end, it could well be a system glitch. I wouldn't worry excessively until a warm body (versus a computer programme) told you they didn't have your report.
The EXACT same thing happened to me kelly_r7. I too did not save the confirmation page, but since then I have definitely learned my lesson.
I wonder if my mistake happened with the same company as yours.

In my situation, the email said to reply to the email if I received the message in error. I did, but I also called their office. I did not get a reply even after I sent 5 emails with the proof of shop, and made 4 phone calls for 2 weeks! They ended up reposting the shop for a higher rate. I sent another email to the scheduler asking why she was offering the shop I did with a bonus when I had been contacting the company, with proof of shop, for 2 weeks. Finally I got an email from the scheduler who told me she had already given the shop to another scheduler and to contact her directly next time. What??? I was so pissed because 1) her email was not included in the instructions, 2) the email said to reply to the one notifying me of the shop cancellation, and 3) there was no apology or acknowledgement of the error on her part.

I decided not to do shops for that scheduler again. But I'm now in another dispute with the company because I've been contacting them about non-payment for over a week, again with no reply. I may need to quit them all together, which I haven't done yet. But from reading this forum, even the best and more experienced shoppers have had to give a MSC their walking papers.

HaveARayDay, the MSC I am having problems with is known for paying regularly and on time (not that I would know, I'm pretty new and haven't been with them long enough to get paid). I wonder if it's the MSC or not, as well. I would really prefer to get this straightened out and continue working with them than have to quit. sad smiley At any rate, their office hours start at 8 am tomorrow... I am hoping to hear back from them about the email I sent them then.
Meanwhile, there is no worry about the shop being removed despite the dire warning to that effect. There system is a @#$%& at times and you may have to redo the report. At least their reports don't take more than 10 minutessmiling smiley BTW, don't go out of your way to enter the reports in 6 hours. If it is convenient for you fine, if you are out all day and have to do it later it won't matter.

I think you're going to have to enter the shop again and this time keep the confirmation page.
If the shop was due today and there is no danger of it being removed I would still wait until speaking to someone at the office. In looking back there is also no apparent reason for leaving out the name of the MSC. It is CORI right? Another thing to keep in mind, they insist on the use of IE. Along with many others I've had success using other browsers, but not always.

It is CORI and I used Google Chrome. I have never had a problem with that with them. I hate Internet Explorer and never use it... I don't remember seeing anything about needing to use IE with them, but I did see it when I was filling out the form to contact them with my problem. "What browser did you use? If not Internet Explorer 6 or 7, why not?" I just said that I wasn't aware that they recommended IE, and I prefer to use other browsers due to IE's security issues.
They are a PITA in their insistence on IE. I have played the game through most of my time with them and problems have been minimal. The last several weeks I've been using Chrome to submit gas station audits because it is easier for the photo upload.

That said, if there is a problem I know they will blame it on that browser regardless of where the actual issues lies. There has only been one person at the company that I ever had an issue with and she argued up one side and down the other that the reason my report did not come through was I had used something other than IE. At the time I had no other browser installed and had never used any other. It was a huge brouhaha which resulted in the shop being pulled and posted again. It was also one of those occasions where I was just pissed enough that I refused to let it drop. I ended up being paid.

Once you speak with the scheduler you should be ok. CORI is not the company I had the issue with. It is another company that known by a three letter acronym.

But, I have had a CORI report erase after I put it in. The system locked up on me and didn't give me a confirmation number. I was so frustrated because it was one of their clients that requires more narrative than the others. Since then I've used EI for their reports. Like LisaSTL said, it is a PITA, but I'd rather do that than have to do a report more than once.

Oh, yikes! I've recently done a lot of shops for 3 MSCs with a 3-letter acronym and have another scheduled. Am I going to have to argue til I'm blue in the face for payment??? Is it the Ace of Spades? A Research Group? A KERNel of corn? I don't think I'm signed up with CORI, yet - should I?
Kelly_R7 It is great that you use Chrome!

Just go to your back arrow at the top left of your screen. Press and hold it for a moment then "Show Full History". You will be able to go back to the confirmation page with the number on it. There, you have it!

I love Chrome and always use it. Very infrequently have had a problem - even when a web page indicates it runs on IE only.
"Dear Kelly,
You have been unassigned from job: [Job ID] because you were scheduled to perform this job on 6/10/2012 1:00:00 AM but we have not received the report from you. Please feel free to contact your direct scheduler with any questions. We would be happy to work with you if you are interested in reshopping this location.

Thank you for your hard work, we do appreciate it."

I think I'm just going to let this go. It was an $8 reimbursement shop with a $5 commission. They didn't respond to my email about the problem, just unassigned me. I will remember the Internet Explorer thing next time but I guess it's not worth chasing $13 to the ends of the earth. Thank you guys.
Wow. I've never seen anyone unassigned from a job that quickly. When did you get that? The e-mail would have been computer generated. Didn't you try to call them this morning? You really can't wait for e-mail since the scheduler could have been off for the day. There is usually someone around who is willing to help.

I wouldn't let it go for two reasons:

1. you did the work and submitted as required, and

2. more importantly, your reputation with the company may be adversely affected if it this shop is recorded as not completed. This could affect the type of shops you are offered in the future.
Yeah this a computer generated auto email. Does not necessarilly mean anything, or could. Is it SCM? If so this happened to me, but I had not done the report yet. Did you get ahold of the scheduler. Keep trying.
