Hi there, WELCOME to the wonderful world
of mystery shopping.
So this can get a bit confusing but NEVER PAY TO SHOP. Some companies ask for membership fees and they will get you jobs. They may give you MS company names but you can find these yourself for free!!
I do this parttime and have been for almost 4 years. I only make about $250-$350 a month in actual cash but about the same in reimbursements. I mostly do gas, grocery, fast food, casual restaurants, mall, oil change and retail shops. There are lots of cell phone and bank shops out there but I have never cared for them.
Here is a list of good companies that I like:
[

[
www.experienceexchange.com] SERVICE INTELLIGENCE....first company I joined....quite a variety of shops
[
www.shopnchek.com] SHOP N CHEK..........cell phone, restaurant, retail, fast food
[
www.second-to-none.com] SECOND TO NONE...mostly coffee shops but also a few retail
[
www.bestmark.com] BESTMARK....quite a variety of shops including sit down restaurants
[
www.trendsource.com] TRENDSOURCE........one of my favorites........large variety of shops.
[
www.cybershoppersonline.com] GFK....gas shops plus variety of ff shops
[
www.rcmysteryshopper.com] REALITY CHECK...quite a variety of shops...
Make sure to keep good records of your shops. Date of shop, ms company name, client name & address, money you spent(if any), mileage, money you were paid and DATE you were paid. Volition has one that I use. [

Merchandising is another avenue that many shoppers take to increase income. It is basically setting up displays in stores or picking up recall items (like that darn pet food recently) I don't know enough about it but basically no money out of your pocket and good fees usually. There is a whole section on MS freedom about it.
There are other forums out there also. MSfreedom is one. [

Service Intelligence has their own forum as well. I check other forums out to network with shoppers like MSPA forum but it isn't very active. Volition is another forum but it has too much drama although I do check out their freebie forum just for fun.
A good site to help ya with writing reports for mystery shopping is [

Take it easy and sign up for a few MS companies at a time. They all are a bit different. Some have training that you do for specific clients online. You will find what you like and don't like. ME?? Well, easy reports that don't take forever to input.
