I Flaked?????

I feel terrible, horrible, and really really guilty sad smiley I haved worked for a good company, with a great scheduler for two years. This week life just went crazy, and downhill for reason I could not control. I completely forgot about a shop I had with them. It was for lunch at a restaurant, which I had already had an extention on. What do I do? I have never flaked on a shop.....sad smiley I'm embarassed.

I would call the editor and tell them. Everyone has screwed up every once in a while for just about everything.
I know your pain. I came back from vacation on Saturday. Today, I just realized I had a gas job to do on Friday, right on my way!!! Right beside the place I got gas!!!

And also another one in my home town I could have done Saturday or Sunday.

So, I sent my sheepish e-mail. The reply was the one on my trip was removed and the one in my home town is extended. No chastising. Of course I might have some marks against my name but it's dealt with.

Still upset I missed that 15 dollars worth of gas and 3 dollars worth of drinks from convenience store.
I agree, contact the scheduler and explain what happened. Ask if you can still do the shop and offer to do it ASAP. I think the scheduler would be more forgiving if you did the shop rather than having them find another shopper to do it.
It does happen to all of us that at some time or other life gets in the way and a shop is forgotten. Best foot forward, contact the scheduler with apologies and see if you can reschedule. They don't want to hear excuses but rather regrets, apologies and a real effort to make it right.
Yes...as we do many 100's of shops, sometimes one gets away from us, too stressed..too much on our minds...not writing it down like we thought we did.

Don't beat yourself up about it. It's true like Flash said: Immediately contact them, apologize sincerely and offer to do it again, ASAP!

If you are a great shopper for them, they can overlook a boo-boosmiling smiley
Happens to us all at some time or another. None of us are the perfect mystery shopper.
Most reasonable schedulers will remove it w/o comment or ask if you can reschedule.
Absolutely treat the scheduler as you would have them treat you and hope that they treat you as they would treat themselves!
I would like to think I'm a great shopper. I always receive great scores, and reports. It's very rare I get an email asking to explain and answer,or that an assignment has been declined. I did send an email apologizing and explaining the situation. The scheduler wrote back and does not seem to be pleased at all. We are still discussing the situation sad smiley Guess I deserve it sad smiley I'll keep you posted.

In hat situation,
I would make no explanations or excuses. I'd say, "No excuses. I screwed up completely and missed the shop. I will reschedule, if I can. If not, please permit me to show that you can trust me with future shops. Thank you for your continued help and support." The later in the month (or worse, yet, in the quarter) the more groveling will need to be involved.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.

That happened to me for the first time recently. I was doing a retail job in a mall and saw the restaurant right across the way, went in and did my bar audit thinking great, got them both done. Come home to do report and low and
behold, I was supposed to do audit in another town, yes, did wrong shop.
I emailed scheduler with apologies, got email back saying, it happens to all
of us, can you reschedule (which I couldn't), job 60 miles rd.trip and I was busy rest of week. Matt says, it's o.k. Irene, got it rescheduled and I'm
still working for them, no hard feelings. I think when its a great MSC and your a loyal shopper for years, your forgiven, opposed to a scheduling company
that has more to lose.

Life gets in the way, give yourself a break....

Live consciously....
