Cash Crate Check

I have just spent 45 minutes on the phone with the Assocated Bank letting me know that the check I just received is a real check with funds available
However I do not want to put a live check in my account as then the numbers will be on the check when the check goes back to the account holder....
The point of the shop is to western union to an account holder in NC 1600.00
This seems like a lot as well as a $200.00 fee to me for doing it....

The BBB is a friggin joke - they have no enforcement power, no one thinks to consult them BEFORE doing a deal . .. .

Jacob, I suggested this a long time ago. Is there any way to have a sticky created with information on who to contact and where to send these bogus checks? Maybe a locked thread so the information does not get buried.

the web site for the FBI is not user friendly
It would be apparent that I should just sent the emails and the check to my local police department based on what they are asking me for on the site
I told the bank that I would send them the check so their fraud department could investigate
They were glad to help as it is their banks reputation that is being messed up
