I agree. I am one of the sell-outs who believes as long as a company posts its payment terms, they are entitled to pay at those terms, whether it is 10 days or 90 days. If shoppers don't want to wait as long as the terms say, don't take the shops. BUT I then expect the company to live up to its posted payment terms or I do not shop for them. This is one I do not shop for because they do not live up to their payment terms. That's the difference here, folks. HEY! MSCs! Fair treatment means post your payment terms AND actually pay when you say you will. Ridgway does not. You have to go back and ask for your money - and if you forget, you likely can forget getting paid. I don't shop for companies who behave this way. If others choose to, that's their choice.
AND - I have to add - reading the shop guidelines for this company's assignments, Ridgway is very proud that they are the oldest currently operating MSC and they say repeatedly (highlighted in different colors and all CAPS) "don't try to lie - we've been around a long time and we will catch you. We will know. Shoppers can't trick us." I found it offensive. Especially from a company who is so unorganized that they can't pay for a shop until the shopper calls to "remind" them. Could a company who has been in business so long be so unorganized that they don't keep track of when their shopper's payments are due? Or could the company be hoping shoppers will forget to ask?
Either way, I perform exactly to my agreement with a MSC, and I expect them to live up to their agreement as well and pay me according to their payment terms and without me begging them. This is one I avoid.
