Wow. I found this REALLY patronizing - as if no one but you might know the big word?

Last time I looked, the definition for it was not "pure BS," it was a noun, meaning:
1. Something or someone one vehemently dislikes. 2. A person or thing consigned to damnation or destruction. 3. A formal ecclesiastical curse involving excommunication. 4. Any imprecation of divine punishment. 5. A curse; execration.

Also ee [en.wikipedia.org]; they do not list "pure BS" as a definition, either.

It is the difference of opinion that makes a horse race.

Of the ones listed, there are only a few I will bother working with and only Mintel is in my group of "best companies to work with".
Hey, I did not know that among us was an English major or semblance thereof. I humbly apologize if that sounded patronizing. It is still pure BS.ie: I find that I vehemently dislike Corp Res. Int.and I dislike BS. It sounds the same to me but then again, I am not an English major just an illiterate psychologist.
And I was never an English major, either. Still, the tone was as if no one might know the word.

Hey dee: If that were the case, I apologize. I do not mean to be patronizing. I come from an era that if something feels wrong, I am out against it. Sorry. Doc.
Market Force is legit - but what they want for their seven bucks is not
worth the time - that bring us back to that other discussion.
Different strokes for different folks. The same MSP can be judged differently by shopper, due to whom we are working with, scheduler, editor, or geographic location, pay, . . . Our criteria is a little more subjective, rather than the reports we submit, which should be objective.

That's what makes the world goes round. If I have a problem with an MSP, or their particular shop, I'll let you know specifically what didn't work for me. The same from other shoppers is so appreciated by me.

This is my first posting on the forum -- on ANY forum for that matter.

When I started shopping in 2007, I got really lucky. My first shops were at banks and paid $15. Then I did many shops for lower pay -- until I realized after a couple of months that I might as well just pay the company...lol

I agree most shoppers decide which shops to take based on pay, distance, and total time to complete. I have gotten much more particular after two years. I have no clue where CRI gets shoppers who are willing to spend an hour of their time to make $4. Even if one does several of their gas stations in a day, the pay is still too low for me to consider.

I have always had good luck with Bare, Bestmark, Trendsource, and DSG.
Let me add one more great one. Spies in disguise. I never see much from them on the forums but they do a good job and respect shoppers. Usually when that occurs, it is because the mucky mucks have been shoppers and know the issues.

Hey Doc,
Just curious, really, but how on earth did a psychologist get in to this biz?? Frankly, I would imagine that your line of work could be quite exasperating as is and to add this to the mix is a bit off the beaten track. Actually, I probably just answered my own question but I would still like to hear from you.
Modario: I am a consulting psychologist to business and narrow in my practice to teach marketing and sales techniques to sales crews. This takes me all over the State of Connecticut and I have mucho free time which I fill with mystery shops. It is fun, pays for a lot of gas and food and I meet many nice people including forum members. For me it works. Have a nice day. Doc.

Sorry to be a bit late on this one, but I was LOL over this. I can see how definition number 5 qualifies as "pure BS" What I can't see is how I can work this word into a mystery shop report.

yet.

PS: A good company would have a scheduler who appreciates an appropriate use of this word.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
vlade5394:
Perhaps you also might understand, being an English major, that "soto voce" is something that is known as taking liberty with the language. It is not patronizing and I will bet that many shoppers do understand that word and just a few may not. But if you feel that taking time on a forum to accuse fellow shoppers of being patronizing, so be it. Have a good life.
