Post Office Shops

After reading someone say that gas station audits are a category unto themselves, it made me think that PO shops are too. There are just so many tips and tricks, and stories too.

Just had such an interesting experience the other day I wanted to pass along. Surely this is going to be a problem for someone someday.

I did 3 C shops on Monday, at my first shop, coming back to the car, there was a person looking in my back seat where I had 2 other 14x14x14 boxes. I just looked at him and he glared at me. I thought he must have figured out I was a mystery shopper, but down the highway a bit I had an alarming thought. What if he thought I was a terrorist, mailing packages with cash, and going to several post offices. I kept waiting for the police to pull me over - when just then, I see a sign on the highway that reads "Highway Patrol stop ahead - drug sniffing dogs in use." I come over the hill and there are 4 hypos in the highway, waiving drivers over. Now I'm scared. I mean Yikes, what kind of credentials do I have to show I'm a mystery shopper - my C packages have all been mailed. Do I show them my iPhone where I have the last shop opened up and I'm entering in the data (as I'm driving)?? I slowly roll up to the Highway Patrol officer, breathing hard and almost crying I'm so scared. I'm driving my college kid's car - and anyone's guess what could be sniffed, plus I have these PO shops to explain if asked and I have an A shop to do before 3:55 in the next town (with dirty clothes in the box). All of this is going through my head, I practically drive over his foot I'm so close to him. And, what did he do . . . He waves me on. Wish I had worn my Depends that day!!! ha ha.

Anyone had someone concerned they were mailing one package at a time?

That's why I keep the boxes in the trunk.

Even being a mystery shopper if I saw that I would assume the person was some sort of salesman that delivered their goods in that standard size box and dropped one off at the post office and a couple of more deliveries.

Mystery shopping or nefarious behavior would not even cross my mind.

I do make sure my mailing labels are face down when I have boxes in my car. (No trunk, it's a hatchback)

But what an experience! LOL.

"Paranoia strikes deep.... into your life it will creep.... it starts when you're always afraid.... step out of line, the Man comes, and takes you away......."

Can't remember the name of the song but it was sung by the Buffalo Springfield back in the 60's.

What a great song!
I'm kind of partial to Mairzy Doats by Spike Jones

Secret--The name of the song is "For What It's Worth".

Spaztck--I had that song on a 45. The "B" side was the same song backwards!

James Bond--I like his version of "Laura"!

What about the Readypost shop that can be shopped between 3/20 and 3/25 but it can only be "Completed on Saturday, March 23"? In my area b/c this one PO shop is on STATE (GOV) property. It is closed on Saturdays, now how do you do shop that?tongue sticking out smileytongue sticking out smileytongue sticking out smileyconfused smileyconfused smiley
You let someone else do it. smiling smiley

"For What it's Worth".... It was on the tip of my tongue but I just couldn't shake it off.

"There's something happening here, what it is ain't exactly clear. There's a man with a gun over there, telling me I got to beware."

"They're coming to take me away" was about being jilted. "For What it's Worth" was a sort of a protest song.

Ah, the 60's..... Such a unique time in our history. No other decade was ever quite like it.
