I currently work for Certified. They are a good company to work for.
what type of work do you do for them, they called me several times to do movies.
I too work with Certified. I have done theatrical installations, trailer checks and blind checks, plus easy merchandising and or audits for Kmart, Walmart, Dollar Tree and Dollar General. Once you do a few assignements for them you get preferred status when new jobs post on their site.

Really good company to work for!
Would you like to share their web address?
I have done lots of different jobs for Certified. Ditto the info from MWillis30. They are a great company, pay as advertised and I have nothing but good things to say about them.
I currently work for Certified; and they are an excellent company to work for!
I've done a lot of work for Certified and they have always paid on time. I've found that the more jobs I do for them gives me higher preference on upcoming jobs. They even call me when they have jobs they would like my help with. I do more work for this company than any others, and I love working with them.
I do a lot of shops for Certified and find them very easy to work with. I usually do about 30-35 a month. I do not do movies. They call me almost every wekk to do movies in our area but I do a lot of Dollar Generals and other easy audits. I do not try to do any of them that take me over 30 minutes because it takes too much of my time if I have a lot lined up for the day. I can usually do about 10-15 shops a day but not if I have to spend too much time at each place.
I'm signed up with Certified, but the jobs always seem to be assigned before I can get them. There must be a lot of "preferred shoppers" in this area that get them first. Are there any other companies that you can suggest who do merchandising?

Thanks
I have done a few shops for Certified and have a few coming up this week. Just wondering if anyone is having trouble with their website. I'm trying to get on by clinking the address in their emails and it keeps saying cannot display web page. I also have not gotten a recent email from them. Does anyone have another link?
I have a stupid question, what do you do when you do merchandising? I would like to do work for this company, but I dont what to do with the jobs they have.
Merchandising is filling in items of a display such as cell phones. I never did one, but I understand that sometimes you have to make a display and other times you have to do an inventory and replenish the stock. Merchandising is also when you see associates working with greeting cards in some of the department stores. They are not employees of the stores, but they are considered to be merchandisers.
They were doing some upgrades to their system over June18-19 so maybe that's why you had difficulty accessing their site.

As regards their movie trailer jobs - I'm curious about them but would like to know some more. What exactly is involved? Do you have to hang out at the theatre all day and count the customers for the assigned movie? Can you get to see the movie? Any other information would be appreciated - thanks
I have never done a trailer assignment but that's my understanding that you have to hang out all day for all showings of the same movie. I do believe you can watch the movie. They called me a few times to do these, but I told them I never did one and I don't think it's something I'd be interested in. I'd probably fall asleep! I also read in the instructions that you have to remain covert. I don't know if that meant management or customers. If it was management, I don't see how that would be possible. It said you needed to stand in the lobby area and count the people entering. How could you do that for several showings and be covert? I think you also need to count the trailers before the movie.
I do trailer checks for Certified. You don't have to hang out all day. Generally you have to watch the first showing of the day the movie is released. If the theater is showing the same movie on 5 different screens then you have to view the trailers on all 5 screens, but when they have that many screens, the movies start usually within 1/2 hour of each other. I did Ocean's 13 a couple of weeks ago and I was at the theater for 2 1/2 hours to get all 5 screens. Occasionally, you are allowed to attend any showing of the movie on a Friday or Saturday, but most of them want the very first showing.

They usually pay from $7.50 to $12.50 for the first screen and $2.50 for each additional screen. I have found it to be more to my advantage to stick to one local theater and sign up for trailers to 2 or more different movies if possible. That way you get the initial big payout twice in the same timeframes you are there.

Be careful to check the theaters listings for times first before you sign up for more than one movie though, so that you know you will have time to watch all the trailers at the, first movie before the trailers start for the second movie.

I have found (at least in my area) that they start the trailers at about the time listed as the movie showtime. Prior to that they show advertisements, but they don't count for the trailer checks. The trailers typically run 10-15 minutes, so if your second movie is scheduled to start at least 15 minutes after the first one, you should be ok to sign up for more than one.

Most of the trailer checks then want you to call in your report by phone immediately after you watch the trailers, sometimes you will have time to do that before having to get into the second theater. I like these kind of shops because I don't have to worry about going home or finding a wireless hotspot to turn in my reports, this way I can do other mystery shops or run my own errands and not have to worry about getting the reports in.

The open checks and blind checks are different, they do require you to be at the theater for several hours, and perhaps all day. Since I work my full time job 3pm to 11pm, I am not available for these types of checks, they almost always need to be done on a Friday or Saturday.

Hope this helps everyone considering these kinds of assignments.
Thank you so much Janet- great inforation.

Bestfr1303 - a trailer is a preview/commercial of an upcoming movie,
Judi and janet, thanks for the imformation. so the way that I see if on some of the these you only have to stay for the trailer
Bestfr1303

A trailer is simply the previews for upcoming movies. Everyone knows the screen just before they play "This preview has been approved for all audience types, G, PG, MA, etc."

For the trailer checks you only have to stay for the trailers and in some cases, the introduction letter you give to the manager will specifically state that you are NOT authorized to stay for the movie. I understand from reading about them that in many cases the manager will let you stay, but I personally have not had the extra time to stick around and find out if that is true. You are basically only being paid for the trailers, so staying for the movie is not part of the assignment.
Do you have to pay to get into the movie? The reason I am asking these questions is I really would like to start doing trailers and want to know how to do them
Bestfr, if it is covert, you do. If the manager signs a sheet and therefore knows you are there, you don't sign. You can look at all the instructions in great detail by clicking on several jobs and studying them. Sometimes it looks a lot harder than it really is. It definitely isn't easy, though. Call the phone number to ask for help. This company is used to phone calls and they are very, very helpful.

I did a Comprehensive Theater Check recently. When the manager realized that I was going to see the same movie several times, he acted like it would be punishment. This is a movie that is very popular, so people are enjoying it. In my private life, I don't see a movie twice unless it is in Spanish and I'm studying the words. I'm working so hard on the theater checks that I don't get bored. I also catch little details of why a character did something that I didn't catch before. It's fun, but it is very long hours. Be rested first.

I have a typo in the above post. I wrote, "you don't sign" because signing papers was on my mind, but I meant to say "you don't purchase tickets". Sorry.

Sandra
They are an excellent (and very friendly) company to work with.
