Getting started with video

Hello,

I've just recently seen a few local jobs for video shops. The price seems pretty nice so I am interested. However, I knoW it takes some training, or experimenting and some practice.

How would you suggest one gets started video shopping? I'd hate to take the job without knowing what I am doing and without the right equipment.

First and foremost is a comfort level with some of the more in depth shops which may require an hour or more with an associate. In other words, if you have never completed a new car/apartment/senior living facility/new home shop and are not comfortable with the requirements you may want to wait until you are. Secondly, either deal with a MSC who will both loan and train you on the equipment or take the time to go through training. If you can, the try before you buy is the better option. Prior to my video career I had developed a good comfort level with the types of shops most common to the industry and was willing to purchase the equipment and travel to a workshop. Now more companies are offering training. It probably is not as in depth as mine, but should be good to get you going.
