What does it mean to get a citation?

I just got a citation from a scheduling company? Can someone explain what that means, or what I should do?

A good citation, or a bad one? What did they say?

It may mean being unable to get shops with them in the future unless they are desperate. In your favor, you did cancel rather than just fail to do the shops. If here was a solid reason for the cancellation (medical emergency of you or an immediate family member; dangerous weather conditions), they may not hold it against you too much. What they said in the citation will indeed determine your future with the company, though after a while most of the citations disappear or carry little weight.
Well I canceled two and rescheduled one, which they did reschedule for me so hopefully I will still shop for them. It was with Kern, and the scheduler said it would effect my rating, but I have done several shops for kern and there is no rating because the shops are with other companies. The company that they were assigning with I have a good rating with. I have done over 20 shops for them and my rating is above a 9. So I guess I just have to make sure to not screw up again. It is good to know that over time the citation hopefully wont be a big deal. The reason I had to cancel is because I did not read the ad requirements carefully enough, and was not able to do the transactions for all 3 shops, I could only do one. So it was my fault.
Too bad you didn't spot that before due date to be able to cancel earlier, but these things happen. Of course they were hung out to dry and can't be expected to appreciate that. With more than 20 shops, a "0" for two of them will drop your average score, but at the same time many of these folks indicate that an 8 or more is acceptable to keep getting shops.
I had to cancel, for legitimate reasons, with Corpri eighteen months ago. They dropped my rating like a lead balloon, even though I had successfully completed shops in a timely manner and cancelled with them days before due date. I appealed, and ended up with only a half point rating reduction. Yippee. A hassle with my less than favorite company, but it's my reputation.
Mert,
Well like I said Kern doesn't really do a rating system because Kinesis is the one who gives me the shopper rating. Kern's rating for me always says 5. I have done 27 shops through them to date. And today when I went to look it said my rating was 1. That seems a little harsh. Should I try to talk with them?
If it were me, I would most definitely talk with them. Kern's schedulers have a reputation of fairness. State your case simply and factually. Eat some humble pie. Ask if there's anything you could do to improve your rating. If this is your first citation, that could work for you. If the response is unbending, let it go and start working your way up again, if that's what you want.

Okay I took your advice and sent an apology and explanation, and I asked what I could do to make it better. We'll see what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed! I get a lot of shops through them and one shop that I do consistently through them is my favorite. I would hate to lose them.
Let us know what happens. Did you check your rating at Kinesis-I would check that too....
