What are your favorite shops?

I'm new to MS and only signed up with 4 companies so far. Of course easy shops with short reports are nice but I was wondering what are actually your favorite shops? I noticed that I get most enjoyment from eating out and from the stores that pay + let you buy something to keep. With Christmas coming up MS is a great way to shop for free presents. My favorite so far is toys store.
What are your favorites and why?

I'm in it for the money so the ones that pay the most are my favorites--usually video shops such as dental office visits, new car dealerships, car rental companies, senior living facilities and new home builders.

Time shares. Free vacation lodging! Yes, the reports are complex...but the lodging makes it very much worth it, imho.
Oh wow. I didn't know you can get free lodging as a part of MS assignment. Wish I had access to it.
Money is obviously number one reason to do MS, but the question is what you actually enjoy doing?
Just about any dining shop that's reimbursement plus fee. I'll do a few reimbursement only but prefer to have a fee included. Car shops, especially high end video. I find there's less pressure from the sales associate on the ultra-luxury brands [Porsche, Maserati, Rolls]. Video home shops are good too, as are the senior living. I do draw the line at "Memory Care" [Alzheimer's] shops...I can't handle them emotionally.

1. Gas station audits/shops that offer a fee and gas reimbursement. Their reports are never too time consuming and I love getting gas for "free."

2. Like OP said, shops that offer a fee and reimbursement at a place where you can buy gifts. I'm halfway through my Christmas shopping already.

3. Shops that pay generously and have super short reports, like a visit to a college or an in-home consultation of some sort.
I'm very new to this but I like gas stations shop. They are super quick and no narrative. Every week I try to add at least 1 new shop, so I can get more comfortable with narratives.
Maserati shop? I don't think I could pull that one off, but I'd love to just go look...and dream. winking smiley
Plusha, money is not my number one reason for mystery shopping, it is my only reason. I don't do this for fun and/or merchandise. That doesn't mean I have not been able to find some enjoyment along the line, but it is never from the assignments themselves. I try to make the time to do something enjoyable or see something new when traveling on long routes.

I have been liking the phone shops lately. I have an infant and I can do them with him in my lap. I got sick of the mortgage ones though- I think the poor harassed brokers were on to the shoppers and purposely avoided taking callers with "questions."
I'm in this primarily for the experience so my favorite are the multi-night resort stays when they come and when I can make it work.

Also look for things that make good, cheap date nights with the mrs.

My best day of car, no automobile shops, I drove over $500,000 worth of vehicles in one day. It started with a Nissan Altima, then a Porsche Boxster, then a Maserati, and ended with a Bentley. At the end I was disappointed to get back in my Toyota.

I'm beginning to learn that I prefer shops that focus more on simply observing and reporting. I like post office shops because they're very straight forward and easy to report. You just tell the facts and that's it. Earlier this week I did 3 or 4 fast food study shops for an MSC that was easy and I thought paid very well for the work. They weren't looking for how many seconds it was between when the cashier said "welcome to McDonald's" and "would you like fries with that?" They just wanted you to observe and report. Cell phone shops where you have to get them to recommend different phones and find out what they like and dislike about each type are tougher to me. I don't do well when I have to steer the conversation to find out the information the MSC wants to know. Same thing on these Lowe's shops. I did 4 of them today and they royally sucked because nobody even knew what they were selling. Again, I'm trying to get them to ask me questions and they say things like "we don't have any more information than what's on the box" (yes, that was actually said to me today verbatim).

So yeah, any shop where you observe a transaction and report on it I like. One where you have to time things and attempt to be "sold" I don't like.

I'm like many others in that I'm doing this mainly for the money. It also works to get me out of the house and talking to people and keeps my brain from turning to mush. That said, I tend to like shops that allow firsthand experience or understanding about something new. I never knew how the cash advance companies worked or how they made money. Now I know and got paid for learning about it which is a win-win in my book. I also like shops that provide reimbursement for something I need anyway like haircuts, groceries, etc. I'm looking for one now for a free eye exam.
HA! I know someone that didn't know you had to go pick up the check and just waited for it to be deposited. And then they call this person a couple of days after the check was due wanting to know when this person was gonna come pick up their check. I have no comments on who this person I know is.

I kind of enjoyed that shop too, even though they didn't offer me a cold drink and I got a not so good rating on the shop. :/

Was it your most favorite person in the whole wide world, by any chance?

There's a good chance it was!

Two good burger places in my town, restaurants where reports are duable...favorite is Whole Foods, anything food.
Neiman Marcus and the likes, upscale retail, and of course timeshares, for a few hours work, you get a 5 night stay.
Easiest job was Western Union ($20.00) three minutes and a simple report, and of course an Indian Casino where they fed ex $300.00 to play the slots.......

Live consciously....
I love the home improvement shops because I can always get something that I need and have learned tons of do-it-yourself tips from the pros. My absolute favorite shops are the ones where everyone hits their points and I can get out of there FAST. When it goes smoothly and you know the report will not be returned to you.
Like 007.5, I like the ones that pay me to eat and have a fee!

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
Love the phone shops because they're short and sweet. For some reason, I also really like DQ shops. Maybe because it was the first one I ever did. Maybe because I can take my partner and our son and make it "family time." Or, maybe because it's an easy shop.
I love the car and transit shops. Easy peasy. Gas shops are pretty cool too (who doesn't like free gas??)

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I'm all about the hospitality and entertainment stuff: restaurants, hotels, movies, golf, bowling, etc. I keep busy just off those. Occasionally, I will do some retail, but only when the fee is high.
