Why we love mapquest...

This is for any vents/ rants/ are ya kiddin me about those "wonderful" gadgets that help us get lost... I mean find our destination.

717.59 miles 12 hrs 30 mins / 8346 hrs 7 mins based on current traffic

The above was copied and pasted from mq. It will take me eight thousand hours to get down the road!?!

How about anyone else?

Just lost trying to find a fire pit in a concrete jungle wishing it was a wooded glen...

if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all

My boss loves to quote to me how long a trip will take using MapQuest. For example it says it will take me 3 minutes to the freeway. It is 3 miles. 3 miles @ 60 mph is 3 minutes. Unfortunately, there is 1 stop sign, and 5 stoplights on the way. I usually have to stop for most of them. Realistic time to freeway, in real world, 12 to 15 minutes. I always add 15 minutes per travel hour if I am looking something up for a time estimate . When I get in the car and turn on the GPS I get a closer estimate. I usually use Maps and Trips at home, but I can't claim that I love that either. It is nice for printing out multiple locations on a single sheet though as a rough guide of clusters of work.
I guess there was a lot of traffic. lol.

I hate the new google map. Good thing there's an option to go back to the old google, which I did!

I use mapquest for directions into a neighborhood. I rarely use their directions from my house because it always tells me to use one of two highways when there are other routes that are more convenient. The highways around here have gotten so congested that it's almost always quicker to take the side streets.

I frequently override parts of the route when using Google Maps. I have my own preferred way of starting out a trip and Google always wants to vector me onto a toll road when the free Interstate paralleling it is usually a better route anyway.
You should use waze since it learns your preferred way of going...and
is based on google maps(Google owns it)

Also Microsoft Street & Trips you can use to route multiple locations at once
to get the preferred way. Generally on sale for under 20 bucks.

Has Streets & Trips come out with an app yet?
