Button Camera Recommendations?

Hi everyone. I've tried doing some video shops and have terrible luck with companies sending me junky bulky equipment and tacky looking shirts. I would like to invest some money into my own equipment, as I believe this would reduce the amount of time I spend on shops (packaging equipment, sending it back, learning the equipment, etc.) However, I don't know exactly what to get or how much to spend. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm tired of having to deal with borrowed equipment.

I don't do those shops but I do remember someone on one of the forums mentioning spending around $500 for their own equipment because they had the same complaints you have. If I were planning on doing this I would look for spy equipment forums because I feel sure there have got to be some out there where you can get information. One thing to be wary of would be that any equipment produced files in a format acceptable to the companies you work for. What I mean by that is that my DVR creates .msv file format files and most companies that want you to record interactions can't deal with that format. If there was enough potential work I would go on and pay the $70 for the software to convert the files to .mp3 or whatever other format was desired. You might also contact the companies you work for because they are probably are aware of what is out there on the market that works well and are likely to be amenable to paying better fees if they are not having to cover the expense and potential risk of shipping equipment both ways and the wear and tear on their own equipment.
Well I contacted the MSing company that I am doing the video shops for and they recommended a setup for me. Apparently they are upgrading all of these old bulky cameras with new ones, but it will be a gradual process apparently. So I bit the bullet and bought $450 worth of equipment. Now I'm feeling the pinch till I can find some good video shops to make the money back and justify the cost of this thing.

Anyone have any recommendations of companies that do a lot of video shops?
On V there are a couple of people who do extensive video shopping. You might want to look over there.
