New requirements on Five Guys Shops.....

I haven't done one in awhile but I'm scheduled to do one today. You can now order a hot dog, veggie sandwich, grilled cheese or BLT instead of a burger. Also, you have to order a fry or drink and then see if the cashier offers you the other one.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure to keep this in mind the next time I do one of these shops. I like the options, but I'll most likely stick the burger. I'm a sucker for burgers!

Did my first one today with the new requirements. Got a hot dog this time at 12:30 PM for lunch. It's now 1:45 AM tomorrow and I'm still queasy.
Is this the case for all Five Guys shops now? Or is it just for the pilots still? I ask because I was just assigned a pilot visit and it was listed differently on the boards.
Mine was listed as "pilot." Remember, you still have to get fries and drink. You just order one and see if you are offered the other.
That's good news for me! I only eat the veggie sandwiches--with grilled onions.....a big, sloppy, delicious mess!

Mine also said "Pilot." You also not have to comment on the bun, whereas before it was optional.

Those veggie sandwiches are amazing and WAAAY more exciting than the menu description would suggest.

I hope they decide to make the pilot version be the standard shop. I get plenty of burgers as it is and tend to shy away from the Five Guys shops because they don't usually pay that much. If I can get the veggie sandwiches instead, I will do those shops all day and all night, forever. Or at least until I hit the maximum. winking smiley

My first one is Monday. I had two Samantha offers for lunch and dinner at the same location and didn't know at least one was a "Pilot" until I logged on to view the CPI. There are multiple shops sitting on the board in my area and they don't look any different to me.

Thanks for the response. I guess it would be easier to ask this: has anyone encountered any shops with the old ordering requirements (i.e., those that do not include hot dogs and veggie sandwiches) this month?
You're really asking that, and not trying to be funny? I don't see a smiley up there. Heh. smiling smiley

Based on your low-ish number of posts, you might be new here. Or, you may just mostly lurk and rarely post, and might have been with the forum for a long time.

But even if you're new-ish, by the time you rack up 42 posts, you've surely seen threads detailing the reasons we're not allowed to answer that question. If not, just look around a little more, as it's currently the topic of discussion in more than one thread. smiling smiley

And remember your ICA, and that the rest of us have agreed to them, too. smiling smiley

I did FG yesterday and it didn't have new requirements. Must order burger of any size and wait to be offered a drink and fries then order them at any size. Hmmm. I'll keep my eye out for new requirements
What does "pilot" mean for MS's??

It's like a pilot program on TV. It's kind of a test (pilot). They're just trying it out.

Ah. So the old guidelines are still out there. Okay. Thanks for the heads up. smiling smiley
Yep they are. Or were last week when I did one. The one I have tomorrow night has the pilot guidelines so I can try that veggie sandwich. mmmmmmmmm

Right on, I just did one and got the Veggie Burger. It's great to have shops with veggie options
I just did my first shop with the new requirements, and I agree with you guys that say the Veggie Sandwich is great. I loved it! Highly recommend!
Anybody more inclined to order fries rather than a drink? I feel like this gives them more of a chance to prompt you. Who doesn't want a drink? smiling smiley
I see they've closed a few loopholes in the shop questionaire, too. "If you DID recommend fast food places to other people, would you recommend this one?"
I had to go into the back room at a FG recently for an audit. I saw reports posted! Two were 100% and two were very low. I nonchanlantly asked the girl what the reports were. She said that they had secret shoppers twice a week and if they get 100% on a report the crew splits $350! She said that she really likes getting an extra $60 for the day. I'll bet!

Since when does 5 Guys have a veggie burger? Our local one has a veggie sandwich, but not a veggie "burger". Not fair!

None of ours has a veggie burger. Ours has a veggie sandwich, which is just all the veggies on a bun. I got the grilled cheese once (not during a shop) and was disappointed. It was just the bun and melted cheese. I thought it would be on actual bread.
I have done a couple of these, you have to wait for the associate to offer you fries and a drink.... order one or the other and then wait for them to offer you the other one.

ex:
me: I'll have a hot dog please?
Associate: would you like fries or a drink with that?
Me: Oh, ummm ya, could I have a little fry?
Associate: Sure (unnerving pause) would you like a drink?
Me: Oh, jeez, yes, please, a diet.

at least that's what my guidelines here state....

O.o o.O

Happily shopping New England and beyond!!!!!
When I do them, the associate slips in "Fries-and-a-drink?" before I can even get to actually ordering either. Then again I'm still used to doing the "old" shops where you order just the burger so maybe I am just not fast enough on the draw.
