Ross sizing audit

Has anyone ever done one of these?

It may be my first job for a msc I just signed up with. The pay is $16, but I can't tell what the time commitment is.

It takes me about an hour in the store and only a few minutes for the report. How long it takes is dependent on what categories you get, but you won't know what they are until you take the job. I think it can be done quicker but I don't rush.

I am planning to do one of these too, I have done the retail version and it was pretty easy.

This sounded horrific in the description - I guess you need to check about 600pc of merchandise - but others have said that can be done in a reasonable amount of time, all you are doing is sifting through clothing on a rack and I guess there are probably about 300 pc per side of a long rack. I know I go through about 5 or 6 racks when I am browsing clothing for myself , so I guess it isn't all that hard to do.
I will never do this again. It is not a revealed audit and the dang security camera followed me around. The employees were scowling and nothing was were it was suppose to be. For $16 it is not worth the hassle.

Just lost trying to find a fire pit in a concrete jungle wishing it was a wooded glen...

if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all

Okay I've got to know...how did the security cameras follow you around?

Sorry about the negative experience. What was not where it was supposed to be? Do you mean you couldn't find the categories? Or do you mean the categories weren't where you thought they would be? All the stores I've done (several different ones) have been clearly labeled as to clothing categories and I never had a problem finding what I needed to count. I've never had anyone with a camera following me around. Do you have any idea why the employees were scowling? They know this audit is going to happen.

I don't know the Ross security, however I have been in high theft stores which have motion sensing video equipment that tracks movement in certain areas. More costly OTC items, like smoking cessation, razors, contraceptive items have the tracking cameras on them. That way they aren't watching the Beanie Baby and card aisle while someone is cleaning out the expensive razor display.
I haven't done one because it sounds like a pain, but I do know the job description for the ones here say if you are questioned you can reveal yourself.

Good to know! I like the MS Company, but thought they would be difficult.
No way.

The job itself is a little mind numbing, but it is extremely easy. If one of the categories is shoes, that will slow you down, but clothing goes quickly.
Very easy shop, and it goes as quickly as you can read labels/tags while counting. I always pull the items that are wrong and place them at the beginning of the rack so that I don't have to keep track of that number separately.

The report is super easy.
Yes, quilter's right, pull out of size items as you go. When you reach the end of a size make a list of all the out of size for that size and put them back on the rack. They will want to know where the mistakes were if the out of size items run over a certain number in each category. I don't do that with shoes. For shoes, I flip the paper over and use the back. I'll write down for example Size 7, then as I find out of order shoes I write down under Size 7 what's wrong in that size. Then move on to the next size, etc.

Yeah, they do get a little mind numbing. smiling smiley And yes, I *hate* getting shoes. For some reason, they're so much more difficult.

And anything juniors size, you tend to find lots of mis-sized and mis-categorized stuff. Seems teenage girls aren't the neatest types. Hee! smiling smiley
