So this is an extension of my "Why??" thread. I just got a very curt reply from the scheduler. I had told her that the shop instructions were specific on adding race and age in the description. Specifically it said "Never add race and DO NOT guess at ages" and example was given in the instructions that the descriptions should read "Female, slender in build, long brown hair and wire rimmed glasses."
She sent the report back asking for race, approx. height, age.
Another thing was that the shop instructions specifically stated that I did not have to report the actual question that I asked for the phone call, just that it was answered accurately and the associate was knowledgeable or found someone that was.
So that is what I reported.
This is what I got back this morning.
EDITOR ANSWER:
I'm sorry. I am sick and did not get back to this yesterday. I asked in the email that you put your answers by my questions and send this back to me. You cannot get back into your shop, so I must add the info. in. I have already edited what you wrote, so it does not help me to have you rewrite it at this point since I will just have to edit it again. Please just provide the answers I asked for.
As for race (some of our clients want it and others don't). We always put approx. in front of the height and then it is not guessing. As for age, I can write young or compare, so I ask for the age and then write what I am allowed to
So, basically, from what I can gather, and correct me if I am wrong....
The shop instructions mean crap.... my report was doomed from the beginning... it was destined to come back to me either way and whatever I don't put in the report or was specifically instructed NOT to put in there, the editors are going to add it anyway. So while the bulk of the report is mine, they add what I was told the client does not.
Granted, once I submit the report to the company (any company) it states in the agreements that the report is theirs to do what they want with it but seriously???
I just want to get paid for this job and be done with it. It's bad enough that the Editor is changing my shop to write in specifically what I was told not to but she gives me attitude on top of it...
GRRRRRRRRRRRR
