I'm doing one of those dining award shops this week for Bestmark. The one where you give an award to your server if he hits on all the things you're looking for. Seems like a fun gig, like Beetlejuice trying to get Lydia to just. say. BEETLEJUICE!
Anybody ever do one of these?

The only reveal shops I do are the Waffle House ones, and I've never actually had to reveal myself... guess I feel safe taking those shops because of it.
I'm just never comfortable revealing myself during shops, just a personal preference.
Something kind of weird about this one, though. The criteria for presenting the award to the dining room server is 50% dependent on whether or not the bartender properly sets up the bar. It doesn't seem fair.

I'm taking my VERY outgoing friend with me. She'll get all excited to present the thing and have a blast with it. It'll probably look more like her job than mine.

I did one for Bestmark for a fine Italian restaurant. Afterwards you have to talk to the manager and take a photo of the server/bartender. I don't mind talking to the manager but I found it awkward taking a photo of the employee. I won't do it again.
I wouldn't do it again. Ended up costing me like $30 over the reimbursement, what with parking and all. I've always wanted to try this restaurant, that's why I took it. That and the fact that the job is a cakewalk. I figured $50 to hand someone a piece of paper was worth it... and it was. But I still wouldn't do it again unless they cover the expenses.

I did one at lunch today. No award though because the server did not mention the special drink. Easy report since there are no other observations. Get one of the pasta dishes and they make you a second one to take home. Skipped valet so parking was free. I went over by $8 but we did get to upsize the wine.

Hoju, certain dishes are kinda like BOGO. You eat one there, and they give you one boxed up to take home. It's only certain dishes, I think they're called Classic Pastas. It's a good deal.
I only did one of these shops, and the server got the award, but she was embarrassed at having her pic taken.
"Reveal". Of course, that's the term I was looking for. I was wondering why my husband looked at me funny when I told him I was doing a shop where I may have to expose myself.

I am doing this shop using the gift card that I got from the gift card display shops, and have arranged a valet parking at a place 0.4 miles away. Nothing like a short walk to digest the food. This BOGO thing sounds great. I hope they have it in the dinner menu too.
Kate, Look on their website. It's on there. Wish I looked before I went!
I wish there was a valet shop anywhere near here for me or I'd have definitely taken it. Good luck!
