$75 Burger King Truck Audits

Has anyone done these? I can't figure out whether or not they're worth it.

Me too but this one looks like it takes HOURS. I can't really tell, though.

I would grab it! I wonder if any are in my current area.

Just lost trying to find a fire pit in a concrete jungle wishing it was a wooded glen...

if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all
6 hours, no. 3 hours, sure. smiling smiley

I've heard the warnings, and taken them seriously. Some day, when I sign up with the company that has them, I think I'll have to take one, just to see....
I've done about 30 of these.

You have to wait for the truck. That can take up to 3-12 hours. You sit and wait for that truck.

Bring plenty of magazines.

On the other hand, you could likely have done 5 shops, in the time you wait for the truck.

And if the truck does not show, you do not get paid. Lately, I think they are offering a small stipend if that does happen. (like $10)

I actually like them but when you schedule a truck, don't make any other plans that day, because the truck can be hours late.
That... doesn't seem worth it.

And OP, a correction:

The audit is $50. Not $75.

You get a $25 bonus if you complete the audit and turn it in that day.

But since you could sit there 5 hours, how much is your time worth?
It *might* be worth it, if there was other work you could do online, and the place you're parked waiting had wi-fi. smiling smiley Like sitting there and doing other reports that you'd have to be doing anyway, or posting the crap from your attic for sale on eBay. (Is that last one just me? Ha!)

But just sitting there doing nothing? I'd probably fall asleep and miss the truck. I can barely watch two hours of TV in a row without falling asleep. Same thing in movie theaters! Which is only one reason I rarely go to the movie theater.

If we still had those awesome gigantic station wagons like in the old days, you could bring the kids and play board games and have a picnic in the back. smiling smiley

Good luck getting $75 to cover your gas in one of those things. winking smiley

Not sure if BK had Wi-fi.

Be prepared to get up at 3 a.m. to get there before 5 a.m., before the truck gets there...

Drink a lot of tea to stay awake! smiling smiley

All kidding aside, it takes a certain type of person to do these and not go crazy!

I actually like them but then again, I plan the day around doing one...
HAHAHA!!!! Yeah, if it really went 12 hours, THAT would suck the big one. An hour or two, maybe even three; not so bad.

And yeah, in my nostalgia for that old beast I hadn't even thought of the gas cost. I really loved that station wagon when I was a kid. And we could just play in the back as it drove down the road, in those days (70's) and it had one of those backwards-facing bench seats, which for some reason was awesome when I was a kid. smiling smiley

Wonder what the gas cost would be for my Dad's 1956 Packard, if he's able to get it running again? A trip to the corner DQ really would cost more than the $3 starting rate, I bet!

We posted at the same time... or I'd have mentioned this in my first post... I didn't realize it was those hours... I haven't gotten the email so must not be with the right MSC ~ or they're not doing them in my area. So yeah, wouldn't make much sense with kids! But I'm almost always up at those hours anyway... I usually go to bed around 5am. smiling smiley

I should mention, not all BK audits are 5 a.m. but I found a vast majority were early bird times. smiling smiley
Early hours would not bother me and I actually have big Internet based project every month so it would be possible to make quite a bit of money during a wait. What would bother is waiting as long as 12 hours and having my pay, or in this case no pay, dependent on some other yahoo showing up.

I thought the notes said it was a 2 hour window.

Oh yeah ~ I'd forgot about the part where if the truck doesn't show up, your pay is drastically reduced. Especially with that long of a wait to see if they show up.

And Lisa, you really should leave the word "other" out of that last sentence. winking smiley

No, she doesn't, I'm pretty sure she's a yahoo too!

Thanks SC, but if I was stupid enough to write it that way bgriffin must be right. Imagine, it is the first time he has been right in over 40 yearswinking smiley

Resist. Resist. Resist. The MSC doesn't pay for 120 days after you submit your invoice and then you have to send e-mail after e-mail requesting then demanding payment. Simply. Not. Worth. It.
