Silver Certification vs MSPA membership

I thought I'd spring for silver certfication.

So I went to the MSPA site, but all I can find is the membership page, which is $20 itself. And on the membership page it lets me go to the store and buy a guide/test for Gold certification ($75).

But where do I go to buy the guide and test for the silver certification?

I had somewhere thought I saw that if you buy the guide and test for $25, the membership is free.

So I did not go for the $20 membership yet because I don't want to pay more than I must.

Am I missing something?

Membership is free. Simply choose your username, type in your email address, and choose a password. You immediately get full access to the forum.

The MSPA now appears to advocate joining and getting the basic certification at the same time for one price, $20. Go to mysteryshop.org/join-mspa

Toward the bottom of the page it explains the membership/certification combo and there is a link to click.

Just in case anyone else is ever looking for this info, I thought I'd share the latest/greatest.

Once you sign up, you get a screen that acknowledges your registration and says if you purchased any digital items, go to the "My Digital Library" link on the homepage.

If you are like me, from this statement you would expect to access the silver certification test from this link. So you will go to the home page and this link will not be there. Then you will probably think some unkind thoughts. LOL.

But eventually you will get four emails. One of them will have the link to the silver certification test.

Their web site is a bit tedious but you do have to scroll down. I signed up for the silver and gold cerification and it was $99. You do not get the links to the silver certification site for a few days. Test was easy - no big deal. They then send you the CD's to take the gold cerification which I have not done yet (they are sitting in my desk.)

I am still trying to find the test to the silver certification. Can't find it listed in an email either.
