Was cleaning out my old MS forms...

and I can't believe how many places that I used to shop are no longer shopped (and if they are I don't know who shops them)--I loved the Ollie's shops, Arbys, and "hearts on fire diamond" shops.....Just to name a few. I can't believe how many I used to do also......This drawer really needed cleaned out.....

I get that same feeling when I drive down the street and remember all the places I shopped before the recession. Many of those store fronts are still vacant, many have become other businesses and many of the buildings have been completely demolished.
I feel the same just from last summer. Market Force used to have a good dozen clients in my area that they offered me, sometimes to the point that I had to tell schedulers "no, I'm sorry, I already have four of your shops today and tomorrow both". Now? Nope. Just the ones everyone knows, plus a local Southern chain that I bet all the Southern shoppers know. They offered me a shop from a new client last night and I just about fell off my chair.
I started on MF at the advice of the friend who got me started in mystery shopping. At that point I was working second shift and eating a LOT of fast food, and her philosophy was "well, you might as well get paid for it, and they're good learner shops." I didn't actually get started until I moved, but I used shops as a way to learn my way around Houston--the MF clients are, after all, everywhere. And now, well . . . . they do a shop for a Southern chain that actually uses real meat and has amazing service, and if I'm going to indulge I might as well get paid for it.
I have found Arby's, but the shop is waaaay different from when I used to shop it for another company. I used to think it was funny to dine inside, then go around the drive-thru, asking "can you tell me what is on the regular roast beef sandwich?" and get a look from the employee at the window because I had just ordered said sandwich inside. I'd get decent bonuses and no one cared if I took my kid (a baby at the time) along. The only shop I have found now involves a trip through the drive-thru, parking and going in to visit the manager. Bah, humbug.

This post would be great on the 'Who thinks up these scenarios posts lol'

Motivation increases when we assume large responsibilities with a short deadline.
I missed a few places too, like Purdy's chocolate, Wok Box and some more. I spend too much time here instead of signing up with more MSC
