I attended the Chipolte training today...

And enjoyed it. The trainer was professional, concise, and shared helpful information. No BS and no flash.
I'm not crazy about the fee structure, but if I can find other shops in the area, it might be worthwhile. It could prove especially useful when I travel if there are indeed that many available shops in other cities.

Wish they'd have one near me. I'm between San Diego and L.A. Won't drive an hour just for training.

I drove an hour for training. I've made that round trip up several times over since I started doing them. You just have to put it down as a cost of doing business and go. Also I think I did other shops that day while I was in the area.

Yeah I easily drove an hour to the training. I'm doing my first shop tonight and will be driving an hour each way. In the future, I am hoping to pick up other shops in the same area as the locations I potentially can do. That's the plan anyways.
There are very few shops that I don't have to drive a ways to do.
I drive an hour to get just about anywhere in LA, but that's usually just traveling 5-10 miles smiling smiley

Seriously though, reading that drives home the difference between urban and rural shopping. I don't really have much interest in shopping any mid-level restaurant that I can't walk or take a subway to. A shop that requires me being in the car for an hour better involve me driving to the airport...
I definitely live in a rural area and am used to driving to anything important. There are local shops but the better paying ones require a drive. And that's why I ask for mileage and/ or a bonus in most cases. I don't mind driving even in snow.
steve .. subway in So Cal????????????????????????? since WHEN????????????????????????

I grew up in Anaheim, but spent my last decade in So County - Laguna, Costa Mesa, Aliso, Mission, etc...
It would be easier if you do 4 shops in a week, I found out that is a good pay when you do it like that.
I did the Chipotle training recently in Colorado and it was great. The trainers were pros and the staff at the restaurant were great. These shops aren't easy, but they pay pretty good and I like the food. I drove a ways for the training, but it was worth the investment. Picked up a shop and a Gigwalk on the way to help pay for the gas, plus the training was paid. Can't believe the locals who flaked on the training. They only train when they have openings. You miss it and you have to wait for the next one.

It started in 1993, but has been growing slowly, with 2 subway lines and 4 above-ground light rail lines that go to further off destinations. Santa Monica will be accessible by rail in the next year.

To keep this on topic; There's a Chipotle a block away from the main station in downtown, one at the Wilshire/Vermont exit, and another just south of the Hollywood & Vine exit! I can keep pretty busy just taking shops that are subway accessible in LA. If you already have a monthly pass for work, that keeps your travel expenses very low for shopping. I have a lease on my car with limited annual milage, so I don't use it much for MSing.
I think the fee structure is pretty good. Even when I eat with my husband, I still make a little money and the food is well worth it. With 3 eating, we break even. And, for one, its pretty good pay since its such good food.

If you do a few of these a week though it could really add up time wise and your waistline. ha ha. You have to sit for 25-30 minutes after you pay. I always put my leftovers in my chip bag and save for later. Love, love, love this shop.
I will never be able to a lot of the shops in a month because of the paucity of locations in my area. I do like the flexibility of scheduling and the over all professionalism of the company.
No offense intended, but if you're going to be shopping them you should spell their name properly. It's "Chipotle" not "Chipolte."
Chipotle is fantastic because I did one in Harvard Sq in Cambridge. There is little parking there, so I parked near Downtown Crossing, in downtown Boston for a parking shop. Bought a Charlie Card (Metro Card) for the day and visited accounts in Cambridge, at Mass Eye and Ear and one near the garage. Opened an account worth 50k/year. Great day. One problem is that I contracted to do 6 Chipotles in May and I spent one week in Maine and another week in CT on business. I had fires to put out the third week so I had to compress 5 shops the last week of May. Unfortunately My ADD made it tough to write a few paragraphs. It's remarkable that I'm still not tired of the food.
You are right. I stand corrected and I'm usually a stickler for correct spelling. I don't think I had to use the word, "Chipotle" once in the report. I have visited the chain exactly once before doing the training.
Their training sessions always seem to be too far away to get to early or close enough, but not when I'm available. Well, at least they're still calling me. Some day.....

Woah. The MTA card is called a Charlie Card. That is just all kinds of awesome!

MTA is NY and they use the Metro Card. Bawston is the MBTA and their's is the Charlie Card. I put 1000 miles/week on my car and anytime I can park and use the train for city sales calls is a relief for me, but a burden to most of my colleagues.
For those of you who didn't understand why I got so excited about it being the Charlie Card:

The trainer went to the wrong location at mine this week. All of the trainees sat around for an hour before he finally got there. Besides that, it went great!

They have had subways in California for at least about 20 years now.

Motivation increases when we assume large responsibilities with a short deadline.
I was accepted as a shopper last year and was told I just missed the training in my area. Now it's been over a year and I don't even know how to find out about the training. I can't even log into the site. Any ideas?
You don't have access to log in until you have completed the training. They will contact you when they schedule a training in your area. I was signed up for over two years and passed up two trainings before being notified of a training right down the street.
The reports for those shops are long and very detailed. Make sure you look at everything and take good notes, mental or written. The pay is good but it takes awhile to fill them out so don't take on too much when you have those due in 24 hours.

True. You really have to love Chipotle's food to make it feel worth your time. The total pay should be higher to compensate for the price of the entree and chips.
