How often do you update your profiles?

I have noticed that some of my profiles or extended profiles on MSC's websites have outdated stuff. Some of them even ask for the photos to be within 6 months. I think some of them actually stop sending emails if the profiles get out-of-date by a certain amount of time.

How do you all handle this?

Generally a couple of times per year when I have a light schedule I go through all of the companies I am registered with. This is a good time to check and see if they have any new clients I am not aware of (I usually expand the search parameters to my entire state) and I always change my profile, even if it is to move the weight up or down 5 pounds, just so they know I am still alive and active. Since so many clients change companies in January, I make sure one of my update visits is then. These bookkeeping visits also allow me to discover websites that no longer work to do a little investigating on forums to see if they have changed website, died or been taken over by someone else.
One issue my mystery shopping company runs into is shoppers creating multiple profiles because they are unsure of how to update their information, such as if they move from Texas to California. They not be seeing shops in their area. IF you create multiple profiles, you could be flagged as a fraudulent shopper. This is not to say your reports are bogus, but that you are avoiding rotation by creating another profile. If you need to update your information, it is best to contact the company or explore your profile a little bit. Most companies offer the option to update your information.

The company I work for doesn't deactivate you for inactivity. We don't require that you constantly change your information. If you need to take a year off, it's quite all right. And if you are having trouble logging into your old account, contact the company and they will be able to assist you with that process.
Certainly creating a new shopper identity to be able to update information is a no-no and I suspect that is for 100% of companies. Some companies do pay attention to updated profiles as well as visits to sites because usually I get a string of email offers after a visit or change to a company's website I have not visited in a while, and there are some companies that send out notices that my profile has not been updated in 90 days or 120 days or whatever their parameters are.
Most tell you to come back around, three months, six , a year.. It's not their time being wasted, so of course encourage it. I only do it when they flag me (you'll get a notice that you can't apply until you update) or when I have something that makes me more attractive as a shopper, like access to another car.
