Video Shops- Tales from the darkside anyone?

Isn't it funny how we all have those moments regardless of how long we've been shopping or how many videos we have completedsmiling smiley

My routine after I start recording is to look at the screen while I extend my right arm straight out. I'll move it up and down, then left and right, so I have a mental image of the area I'm covering in the picture. I then look and announce that both lights are on, announce the name of the shop, the date, and time while I'm slipping the recorder into my pocket, then I walk in and start the show.

My routine for "good luck".

So you haven't had any yet where they ask you to refrain from narrating? My old FF route wanted nothing more than the front door on the way in and wanted the cam shut off before I even walked to my car. They were the extreme because they didn't have editing capabilities. If I wanted to start and end at my car I would have had to edit the video myself.

Not yet. The closest I had was two clothing store shops last week where I had to have no more than 30 seconds before I entered and the same after I left. And I also had to turn off the date/time/frame counters.

The requirements vary so much now. It seems RBG wants the camera started a mile away. Meanwhile I have 3 shops for a company who is new to video and they would prefer it be tighter although they do have editing capabilities and will accommodate shoppers who prefer to start recording from their car. What is getting more confusing for me is the way some MSCs have started requiring the counter along with the date/time stamp while others still want it turned off.

My PV-700 has a vibration alert option. If I select this option the PV-700 will vibrate when I power on or off, and anytime the battery is low. When your PV-500 vibrates could it be a low battery indicator, or perhaps an old battery?

My unit is just over a year old. I actually was concerned the first time this happened so I did a three hour recording to watch and see...each time it starts a new video file [every 30 minutes] it vibrates to signal the new file.
