Picture ID

I don't know about calling a company name but uploading a picture ID concerns me. I recently attempted to sign up for a new company, that was a requirement. They will have everything to steel ID. I have Never been asked for that before. When a unknown person ask for a government ID, then your bank information....that is frightening. Has this been a problem with anyone? No, I have NOT done it. Please comment.

I've never given that a thought, actually. Lots of companies have my picture and/or copy of my drivers license and I think one has my passport.

But I'm not sure what they could do with that that they couldn't do without it if they had the other information.

Just never give out your mother's maiden name, that's one of the things credit cards always use to identify you on the phone.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I do a lot of compliance shops with various companies, and am required to keep a picture ID on file. They are some of my easiest shops to perform and report, and pay well, considering the amount of work you do.

It's not exactly an unknown person, it's a company, and most of the MS company sites are secured sites.

It might help if you post the company name, as others may be able to tell you if it is a reputable company or not.

It's no different than working a W-2 job, they have your photos, your SS Card and/or Passport, bank account information, your medical ID number, know exactly how much you make working there, how much you take out for your 401K, etc, etc, etc...
Guess what. Your mother's maiden name is easily accessible. I advise you to start using a different security question, like the name of your first pet, or of the person you went to the prom with. Do not use anything that is a matter of public record for a security question if you want security.

Based in MD, near DC

Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I generally use my fathers middle name. Which is the fun part. He has none. So, even those who know this who would most probably put "none"; I use NMN (no middle name) hehe.
Thanks everyone! That makes me feel better. To answer the question about the company name, it's Trend Source.
No problems with Trendsource.

Have PV-500 & willing to travel.

Yes, Trendsource does require a photo ID. Just make sure to use the link in the official list at the bottom of this page. Don't rely upon a link sent to you via email as scammers like to hijack names of known legit mystery shopping companies to phish you into giving information or sending you to a bogus website to give them information.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
The only conceivable problem is the possibility that the MSC's servers could be hacked into by someone looking to steal identities.

RIMS, no real job keeps all of their employees' personal information on internet websites. They use intranets and/or paper files.
Yes. Trendsource does compliance shops so they do need an ID on file. I do one for them every month and have to attach my ID pic to my surveys. Nobody has tried to steal my identity yet. =]
Everyone is comforting, thank you. I'm unfamiliar with compliance shops, what does that entail?
LOL, same. Who'd want to be me?

Compliance shops test whether the employees "comply" with laws regarding checking ID for tobacco and alcohol purchases. MSCs send in shoppers who are near the legal age to see if their ID is checked or not.
