Ever flaked on a job?

I have had to do this three times this year. Once when a relative went into the hospital and I did not have the time to shop, I clicked on the cancel job link and left an explination for other. And the other time I had a shop with MF and a shop with Ritter, MF was the the end of the week and Ritter was the next day. My coworker went on vacation and the person who was to fill in for him had a death in family so never showed and I wound up working double shifts for a week. I clicked on cancel job with MF with an explination (I have never heard from them about either flake) and I called Ritter and spoke to the scheduler about what happened, she was very nice about it accepted my apology and canceled the shop for me. The next week when I was back on a normal shift, I wound up with the same shop from Ritter with a bonus because it was overdue. I have also had some nice emails with the shedlulers there about shops in another county where if I did them I would need a gas bonus.

Those aren't too bad of flakes.

I have had an "OMG, I completely forgot about this shop and now it's closed" flake. Had to reschedule for the following day.

I've forgotten to add a shop to my calendar amidst 10 others of the same, and almost flaked. Would have, had the scheduler not emailed me, noticing I hadn't viewed the guidelines for it.

I've done a dining shop where I requested a broad open window, not knowing exactly when I could fit it on. Ended up being the last day of the window, that I could do it. Got there and the health department had shut down their kitchen a couple days before. Only their bar was open. I did my required drink at the bar, but left after, since they couldn't serve food. Kinda glad I flaked on that one, actually, now that I think about it. Still got paid and reimbursed, except it was just for the bar tab and tip.

Plan the work. Work the plan.
I blew the timing on one. It wasn't supposed to be done till after 3 and my route went quicker than I thought it would and I rolled through there about 2:30, did my final shop and was filling out the report before leaving the area and realized I'd done it too soon.

They forgave me.

But that wasn't really a flake, even though I was unable to re-shop it. I just blew the shop. I blew another when I went to the wrong address (two blue banks on the same corner; I didn't realize the one I needed was inside a store).

I think those are the only shops I failed to complete, other than a couple I cancelled immediately after they were assigned because of misunderstanding about the shop requirements. I think I had three like that.

Out of over 500 shops ... not too bad a record.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I had one where the car salesman recognized me from a year before. Intellishop considered it a flake either thou I explained it to them
I had one where I forgot completely and rescheduled through prophet. so not really a flake.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I completely forgot about a shop once. Fortunately they extended the time and let me do it. Another occasion I was near the location but the ice on the road was so bad I turned home and never completed it.
Flaked on one recently when learned about delayed payments from MSC. Thanks to the forum members!!!
Never flaked on a shop. I once called a scheduler to tell her I was too sick and I ended up doing it anyway. She has always been great with me. She told me she'd have to pay out of her own pocket if I didn't do it.

Can't have that now, can we?

Plan the work. Work the plan.
I sat on the side of the road with a flat tire. I finally got the donut on and there was no way I could make the shop. I phoned the MSC and explained. They were great and allowed me to reschedule.

Wow what? Actually not just delayed payments, in many cases no payments at all. I emailed the company saying that I want to cancel the job. I didn't want to spend $60-$70 on dinner with a high chance of never getting reimbursed for it.
