Prophet just confounds me

Ok, I am just about ready to call some schedulers and say wtf? It seems like I can't seem to get any Prophet based MSC job boards to work. I search for "Visits I can accept" and will come up with nothing or assignments in nearby cities. Then I go to search for "visits outside my area." There will be a (sometimes) long list of cities in my state. Sometimes my city isn't even on the list. Sometimes my city is on the list and when I check it, shops show up that didn't before. Is there some kind of voodoo magic at work here or am I not understanding a hidden algorithm that is the mastermind behind Prophet? I recently signed up for a tasty sandwich shop here in town with one MSC and when I went back to the list to snag some others, everything was gone. A search by state didn't even indicate my city on the list - wiped of the map so to speak. Will MSCs limit your shops on Prophet this way? It really seems hit or miss for me. I have checked my profile, and my address and zip is correct. Does anyone else have this issue or understand the inner workings enough to give me a clue how to anticipate how it might behave?

What I have always found is that the scheduler needs to authorize you to see certain shops. If they don't know what they are doing, sometimes you can not even see a shop you have accepted with them. My sense is that it is a more complicated piece of software for the end users than are most of the monkey-see-monkey-do sites.
I don't seem to have any problems with the Sassie or Prophet platforms. The one that puts me over the edge is Shopmetrics. I think it's not worth doing a shop if I have to use their platform.
I'm still stumped. I signed up with a new MSC tonight that uses Prophet. When I listed visits available, I got nothing. When I searched my state, one small suburb was listed. When I queried it, there was nothing. About 15 minutes later I get an email that a bank shop is "within 20 miles" of me. It had a very promising fee, so I log back in. It is now listed as available to me, but it is in a major Metro area 60 miles away. Searching outside my area again reveals only the shopless suburb.

*shakes head*

Alright let me try to explain this the best way I know how. Prophet is a messed up broken platform that is not user friendly. It has to do with what mileage or cities or area codes you listed when you signed up. If you sign up for one client shop it takes away sometime other shops for that client. Sometimes you can see whats actually available and sometimes not. Sometimes its shops available sometimes you have to search outside and select local cities in your state. Now Sassie seems to be the most user-friendly with shop metrics next best. I don't understand why anyone would not like shop metrics. Number one it tells me all the msps current clients you can search by city state or zip code radius. The only dislike is non grading but its worse with profit as you get no grade and don't know when the shop has been accepted and is good for pay. I use all 3 platforms and prefer Sassie then shop metrics and lastly prophet. I think in 10 years prophet will be phased out and we may even only have sassie.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned.

I got one of those "in your area" emails too and the shop was 100 miles away.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Oh yeh, Prophet SUCKS. I always wind up doing the form several times. The good old disappearing answers trick. I'm so tired by the time I finish......I have found one thing encouraging, the longer I do this the better offers I get. These shops tend to have fewer complications, less blah blah about something stupid, (like the proverbial," 100 characters about a hamburger bun"winking smiley
The best paying shops all seem to be with companies that use Prophet. So I suck it up, and deal with it. and go get the egg timer so I remember to save it before it just shifts and is gone.
I would rather go talk to a banker for $70 than do 7 shops for the same money, and have to eat disgusting food.
Sassie is the best. It at least warns you to SAVE. Also the more I so the forms the easier they become.
I'm glad I'm not the only one frustrated with Prophet.

For one MSC in particular, I currently have a shop on my "Show Me Visits I Can Accept" page that's 700 miles away. It's not the first time shops in that area have shown up, for this MSC as well as for another that uses Prophet. I think it's because the area code for that region is the same as the prefix (3 digits after the area code) of my own phone number.

Meanwhile, there is an open shop just a few miles from me (same area code, same state, similar zip code) that only comes up when I use the "Outside My Area" search.
Well, at least you're seeing shops. I get a lot of "You are not qualified for the shops in the area you chose."

Time to build a bigger bridge.
So glad to see this post. I thought it was just me ...
