In Kentucky there are lots of millionaires who drive farm trucks and wear blue jeans. Bet the same goes for Texas and other places. Out here in Arizona, it is snowbirds in sedans who own two houses. Those people who look like "tire kickers" could be the one to feed your family next week. Best to treat everyone with respect. They ought to send us in in "come as you are" mode to make sure of that. But in this life, the snobs get to decide.

Everyone has an opinion on the subject, but it's the client's opinion that matters. If they want us to drive onto the lot in a BMW instead of a Toyota Corolla, we need to comply with the request, not lie about it. It doesn't matter if we take a vote here and all of us agree that they should treat us like millionaires when we show up in a 10 year old originally $12,000 sedan. If they want to *be sure* we are being taken seriously by showing up in a three year old, originally $40,000 car, then that's their prerogative.

If we want the $75 or whatever for doing the shop, we need to show up in the required car, be the correct gender, and dress in "business casual" if that's what the instructions say.

This is what we are contracting to do, regardless of our opinion about what the client "should" be trying to find out. They want to know how someone who *looks* rich is treated. We need to look rich if we take one of these shops. Or get permission to go in with a plausible backstory about the Beemer being in the shop one time too many so we borrowed our son's ride to go shop for a replacement.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
I dont understand why there are age limitations on clothing shops. I was joking about it earlier and the only thing that made sense was the ms providers wanted the malls filled with young women lol

It's too bad that there are so many age limitations on clothing and other things (especially the Pandora shop! That one really makes me sad!). I think the age limitations come from the client. The clients are expressing to the MS company what limitations they want. The clients have identified what they believe is their "target market" and they want the mystery shoppers who shop their stores and give reports to come from their target market.
Let's see... I'm 59. The shop is for a "young" women's store. One of the requirements is using the dressing room to try something on.

What in the world is this overweight 59 year old going to find in a "young women's" store that I could plausibly want to try on?

We're supposed to blend in and appear to be an appropriate customer for the store.

That is why there are age limitations. Because very few 59 year olds will successfully pass for 22.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Just did an Infiniti shop today. LOVED IT!!! Loved the QX60! Loved the Salesperson! She mentioned so many features I couldn't keep track of them. I would love to have driven out of there with that 50K car, and I really felt as I was test driving it that someday it would be a definite possibility!
