CoRI 3 day assignment period

How do people assign shops to themselves ahead of time with CoRI? I see shops being assigned way out in November, for example. And these are not gas routes shops, but other one off shops. Do some people have that priviledge, or do they contact someone at CoRI to do that for them?

Sometimes I see a "ripe" shop on Monday that I would like to pick up, but I could only do it on the weekend. By the time I can assign it to myself on Thursday, it's snatched by someone else.

I would really like to know how to do that. Thanks!

My guess is that people get onto CoRI right when the shops get posted, assign them, and then contact a scheduler to have the date changed.
I have been able to do that a couple times by contacting the person in charge of that shop and asking if I can do it on a certain date, but the date has usually only been a couple days out of the 3 day period.

That used to be able to be done if those shops had a reshop period. Like if the shopper shopped that place already and had to wait 45 or 60 days to reshop it. So if today was the 1st and the 3 day window was for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but their 60 days were up the 9th, they could schedule it for the 9th, 10th, or 11th. But I believe that has changed recently since CoRI changed their scheduling boxes.
I seldom self assigned anything with CoRI when I shopped them. I would find a whole bunch of shops and send them an email something like this:

"I see that you are having trouble filling job #54321 in Outer Mongolia. It is posted at $9 with a $2 reimbursement. Although it is quite a distance from my home, I would be willing to do it for $15 if I could also do Jobs #98765, #87654, and 76543, at the same time. They are all posted at $7 each, but since they are all between me and #54321 I could do them for $10 each if I am able to do all four shops on Wednesday, November 17. I will be traveling about halfway to Outer Mongolia that day on other business, so I could do these on that day only, at the price indicated above.

Let me know if you want me to help you out with these"

About half the time, they turned me down.

But the other half the time, I got the job I wanted at the price I asked.

I really didn't mind working for them too much when we did things that way. I just got burned on their gas station routes, and have been bearing a grudge against them ever since.
I can't figure the Cori site out. I click on an offered job, it then says, training. I go to the training, and the training for that particular company is not listed.

Weird, are you clicking the training button that would be where the details link normally is?
Lisams, I am clicking to the side where it says, univeristy or training. Is that the wrong place?
Kitty, I've run into this situation with their site. I see available shops for 'John's Fruit Stand' or 'Family Campground' and when I look at the training list, those locations are not listed. The training for them is actually under the gas company's name. Were they not local businesses, I wouldn't know how to find their training.

You might not find it under training with the name it is listed under the job board. On the job board page, click training next to the job that you want to train for. It should work that way.

Your biggest problem is you are trying to work for CORI.

I realize you're probably out for an evening troll, but I wanted to reply because I see so much CoRI bashing on here.

In all honesty, CoRI so far is one of the best MSPs I've done jobs for. They are the fastest paying and I've never had an issue with one of their jobs (I've done over 140 jobs for them in 4 months).
I agree! I really like Cori. I have been working for them since 2002. They have some of the greatest schedulers there are in this business.

Here is a company that really wants to pay low, as they advertise Commission rates have increased in your area. Cant afford the gas versus the pay might break even
I really do start to wonder after a while if it's just my area that gets pretty high commission increases with CoRI. It seems like everyone else thinks of them as the lowest paying. Right now I can think of several MSPs paying lower fees than CoRI.

In my experiences, Intellishop underpays them by far, especially if you consider the amount of narrative they want.

I like this company. I never take the assigaments at the beginning commission. I earn a tidy sum with them monthly and love the quick pay.
They pay fast... yes... but high pay? NO!!!! And there is never anything left in my area past the first week of the month. Oh, and it takes a ton of shops for your rating to get to a 5, yet have a weekend emergency and your shop is removed and your rating docked way down and you may not be able to self assign again. Oh, not to mention the fact that you can't get ahold of anyone on the weekend and the company website has no phone contact information.

DISLIKE!
In less-competitive areas, bonuses go higher and higher. Normally with Cori where I live, a $5 shop may reach $6 or $7, and then Nervous Nellie grabs it. Then again, maybe Nellie really is hungry.
Deleted, as somehow despite the forum restrictions, it got double posted and is seen below...

People here snap everything up immediately. I saw a $30 HW one time (and I am pretty sure it was a last minute reshop) and once one went up a whopping 2 cents. Other than that, they stay at rock bottom here. But then, they only have 3 chains with a whopping total of 5 locations on island. Me, I stay away as I want better pay than what goes on with them here.

Gotta agree with both sides here. (gee I sound like a report) In my area Cori pays rock bottom. But they are pretty easy to work with. And since someone else in my area "discovered" them I'm not getting the shops I want all the time. But......
Thats ok after one shop (in a list of 5) that I wanted that got snagged while I was "training" I went ahead and requested to be back-up and have been contacted for two of the shops as the original shopper couldn't do them.
Go me! I do wish they paid more.

The key with this company is to wait them out. They always raise their rates over time. Why take a job at $4-$5 when it eventually will go to $12-15. Instead of taking 4 @ $5 or 2 @ $8, just do one job @ $13. You don't get as much money, but you get a comparable rate for a lot less work. If I can do 2 jobs for them and make $25, then I can wait out the 10 to 12 jobs it took to narrow down to where I want it to be. Like I said, I don't make as much money taking the jobs earlier, but I make comparable money with a lot less time, expenses and work.

I totally agree. Unfortunately in my area not everyone follows that logic. All of the gas station shops were taken here during the first week of the month by the same or maybe two shoppers. And I mean all of them. About 40-50 shops. You get a few shoppers like that in your area, and you can kiss higher commissions goodbye. The only occasional shop I get is when they mess something up and it needs to be re-posted.

I've been noticing that here too with the gas shops. Some of the other shops stay on the board long enough to get bonused, but the gas shops are gone as soon as they get posted. I always assume is people doing routes.
