I just got reinstated to Five Guys . . .

I went to the location I got banned from for a year and went back for a second time in a month today and I feel like they know it's me. I checked out my receipt and there are a bunch of ?????????? on the top of my receipt. Am I being paranoid?

The ???????? maybe someone was doodling and absent mindedly wrote on your receipt.

if you were banned for a year, why would you go back a 2nd time
in a single month...

Paranoia aside, how did you get reinstated? I was banned from a different client for this msc years ago. I called them a few years back to see if they would reinstate me. I don't even think the person on the help desk took the time to look me up but just said a flat no. Once you are off a job, you are off was her attitude.

There's banning, and then there's freezing.

I guess mine was freezing, because I had shopped them over and over...It lasted about a year.

Oh, I got banned after a specific location claimed I didn't even try the food. (I was sick, I nibbled and for goodness sake, they got a good report from me.)

This was Jan 2013. I went into that location 2 weeks ago because I needed a water and they freaked out. Repeating my order back, questioning why I didn't want fries or a soda, tripping over themselves to help me.

It was pretty amusing.

And I confess I glanced at my phone a lot, sent some texts and looked like I was paying attention to how long it took.

I miss the bonuses but I don't really miss them otherwise.

It's just the places that you want to go back to more often that have the low turnover! There are some places I shop that seem to have a new set of employees every time I go there, others, the people stay and stay. Sometimes I get remembered due to my red curly hair. I guess I stand out especially in this city of many dark haired people.

I hope that I was just frozen and not completely banned - miss those fries - but have a really hard time buying them on my own dime. I think it has now been about 7 months for me and I am getting a little tired of chicken.

I have a location that's had the same staff for the past year, at least. Eventually, they just remember your face, no matter how much you vary your order. Looks like I finally got frozen out of that particular location. I used to be able to visit this location twice a month, every month. Fortunately, my area has tons of locations, so I can still raise my cholesterol level and blood pressure at the other locations.

Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.

I guess I was just frozen.. I went back for a second time because they called and there was a nice bonus attached . . . The ?????? were typed on the top of my receipt.

This was making me crazy. I had to look at my receipt from a few weeks ago and I do not have ????? on the top.

I feel like asking them what it means, via email of course, hahaha.

I went back to one today and remembered why I avoid that one store. The music is so loud I had to repeat my order to be heard. It is over 89 Db

Shop, does your receipt say:

Or does it just say:

I went back through my last few months of Five Guys receipts and found two which say the second... Has everything but "Five Guys Burgers and Fries"... in its' place are a string of eight question marks

Canuck - I went through copies of my receipts for the past 2 years and have never had question marks. It makes me wonder if when they printed it out if they wondered if I was the shopper and maybe it prints out to the cooking staff as in get your butt in order. =)

There were 18 question marks on the top row of the receipt on the left side. On the next row it said
Five Guys
Burgers and Fries

I'm being paranoid.

I vaguely remember my cashier having issues with taking the order of the person in front of me, and having to restart the computer. I think maybe it hadn't reset fully when my order was taken.

I found two with ??? on the top from July-now.

Hi, the same thing happened to me. I haven't done one in over 18 months and all of a sudden I did (3) in three weeks. I did not want to be greedy but I could have done a 4th one. I think there is some kind of mistake or maybe shoppers don't want them anymore. The shop has been there for two weeks but I don't want to do it on Halloween, I have better things to do.
