Do you think I'll be paid?

I went to a bank shop today the address was

XXX East Xth Street, my town, USA XXX18

As I'm getting close I realize, there's no bank around here! Sure enough, the address is for a boarded up residence.
I visually verified the address and street, checked with google maps, mapquest, my GPS and the MSC's directions tab. Then got a geoverify code and took a picture.

The instructions don't give instructions to call ahead and in fact don't give a number or even the type of bank (though I know from doing them).

I did what I did and left, all told it took not quite as long as the shop itself would have taken if it went fine.

I emailed the scheduler and then entered the report the best I could.

It turns out that if you take away the East from the address and change the last digit of the zip code to 5 that bank is walking distance from my house (ironically enough)

The way I see it is either the client or the MSC made the mistake and I deserve to be paid for my time and effort.

The MSC might be a synonym to NAKED and it rhymes with CARE or BEAR

Let us know how it turns out. You do deserve to be paid. The mystery shopper shouldn't take the fall all the time.
At the very least, I would think you would be paid a closed location fee.

I had a shop for this naked MSC, where the business actually was out-of-business. Address was correct, and there were no instructions to call beforehand to verify address or open hours. I was paid full fee.
How did you figure out that by modifying the address and changing the zip code you could find the right location?
You should be paid the closed location fee. The town I live in has ridiculous street names. We have 4th Street, then 4th Avenue, then 4th Road then 4th avenue road and then add north west and east too all those names. All up, about 10 4th streets and they do the same with 2nd street and all the others up to 12th street. The person naming the streets must have been drinking.

I googled the bank name and the incorrect address and it came up.

The thing is that if it wasn't for the word East I would have noticed that mistake before I went but the incorrect address they gave is IN the incorrect zip code they gave, there was nothing funny looking about it until I got within two blocks.

The two addresses are 10 miles from each other in city traffic which means 30 minutes
I did a bank shop for that MSC where the scenario was changed the day before I did the shop. I was a brand new shopper and had printed out everything the moment it was assigned. I found the change when I went to enter the report. The shop was never graded, and I was paid in full.

This company has a closed fee for another shop - not a bank. They are a professional company. Email the scheduler and they should take care of you in some manner. Maybe you can get preference on future shops.

I did a gas station once. The address was for a house. I took a pic of the cross streets. The house and the house number. I got paid but the scheduler called me back and asked me to reshop the location. Apparently the address on the paperwork was a business address. The owner of the station also owned an oil company and used his home address for mailing. I did go back to the actual gas station (which was 2 streets over) and shopped the actual gas station number. I got paid for that also.

As a shopper I have no idea what or where things are. I bid for a job at an address they give me. If that address does not exsist, I take pictures and leave. I enter it accordingly. I don't concern myself with mailing addresses, business addresses or names, blah, blah... that is not my job.

Their job is to make sure the address is correct, the CLIENT needs to convey this to the MSC who conveys it to me. If the address is wrong not only should the shopper be paid for going out there but the MSC should be paid for sending someone out there and if the client still wants the location shopped they should pay again to get it scheduled with the MSC who will get it scheduled by a shopper.

They're giving me half the fee. I feel like I deserve the entirety but this is my first problem with this MSC so I don;t want to rock the boat and I would have done it for the half anyway. When it gets re-posted for the correct address, which is walking distance from my house I'll do it for full fee.
In my opinion you shouldn't have to keep watching for it to come up again. I would email the scheduler and ask if they will please just assign it to you as soon as it becomes available.
This also gives you a chance to personally connect with your scheduler for this new company... that could be worth it's weight in gold (and usually is)
