Moving to Atlanta

I am moving to the Atlanta area in the next few months from the west coast. What are the good shopping companies that have clients there - Restaurants, parking facilities, retail stores etc.... I have been shopping for 4-years.
Thanks for input!

I find that most of the companies listed at the bottom of this page, have shops all over North America. Check them out. smiling smiley
You should search the companies you currently work for, using a zip code where you are moving. That way you'll know what to look forward to. And if you're not signed up with at least 100 companies by now, start adding to your repertoire.

The only people who could tell you what is in the area you're moving to are going to be the people who are doing the shops currently. You really think they're going to hand over their client list to their competition?

Time to build a bigger bridge.
There is sooooooo much work to be had in Atlanta! I love Atlanta because it has so much work. Here is the thing - well 2 things.
First off, it is lucrative to have your radius at 50 miles from Atlanta center. I came out at over 1k with that radius working part time.
Second - have a GPS, a phone with GPS, your Mapquest map and your Google Map. Do not skimp on the maps. Check the locations BEFORE you go! Make the 'prank' call asking where the shops cross street is. Get directions if you can. I have several pictures of roads with no signs, me stuck in swamp (don't ask), me stuck in a construction site (again no questions) and a video of me proving that I was not an idiot who could not read the street signs that were invisible. If you can not locate it where it 'should' be, go 5 miles in each direction and you should be able to find it! oh and most things are called Peach Tree rd/lane/ave/etc.
If you can deal with the directions, maps, and general traveling; you can make some good money over there! I am jealous. I will be heading that way during my trek north over the spring.

oh and I only used 5 of the major ms companies!

if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all
If you aren't familiar with Atlanta.. just a tip - don't plan shops during morning or evening rush hour until you have more of an idea about it. Traffic is not as bad as LA but it is awful. Very large city, tons of commuters and a pretty bad public transportation system.
Duh,
I shopped for 4-years+ in Los Angeles, no stonger competition in country. Also, a lot of people gave me great advice. No thanks to you
the 'tude could go away. I more then gave forth my wisdom which I could have hoarded. Be grateful for the info - no matter how vague 'cuz no one is here to share their entire dinner.

I live in Atlanta and have been shopping here for 11 years, It's great and several companies are based here, if you wanted to branch off into scheduling or editing.
Ha! These replies are great. I shop the far NW suburbs of Atlanta (which are about 90 min from where I live in SC) probably 3-4 times per month, and I have noticed there are always more in those areas than there are closer to the city and inner suburbs.

Happily shopping the Pacific Northwest. Shopping since 2013 smiling smiley

Gotta respectfully disagree on that one. Been to both, ATL is significantly worse.

I agree. Atlanta is just nasty. Hurry up and wait ... and wait ... and wait ... and, well you get the idea ...
Checking out 3 different Top 10 Worst Traffic Cities lists, Atlanta didn't make the top 10 in 2 of the lists and was ranked 8th in the 3rd. Chicago didn't make the top 10 list on the same 2 and was then tied for #1 with Washington DC on the 3rd.

Guess it all depends on who you ask and how you measure it.
Eh, I thought LA was worse, but maybe I'm just used to Atlanta traffic (lived there for the first 30 years of my life). I've only been to DC once so I can't comment on that, but Chicago.. I live near there now and no way would I compare it to Atlanta. Different strokes. grinning smiley
I live near DC. I visit family 20 miles south of Atlanta. Traffic in Atlanta is horrible. Much worse than DC Metro area. Rush hour in Atlanta starts before 4 and ends after 8...if your lucky. The roads in Atlanta area are wider, more lanes, better designed yet traffic flow is ridiculous.

My purpose for this post is to make sure you learn the traffic so you can make it to your assignments on time.

A Closer Look is one company to look for. It is based in Atlanta and does mostly restaurant and bar shops in the Metro area and fast food shops in rural AL and GA. Most of the shops are reimbursement only. Other companies that have lots of shops are Bare International, Confero, Strategic Reflections and ISecretShopper.
