Goals for 2015

With the New Year just around the corner, I'm sure we're all thinking about our resolutions/goals for the coming year. Besides the usual ones like losing weight, getting more organized, stop smoking, and so on, what are your Mystery Shopping goals/resolutions?

Here are some of mine....

Actualy hitting my goal of 10 shops per month

Organizing my list of companies I am signed up with and completing my file on which mystery shopping company does shops for which store/restaurant/company

Sign up with more companies

Start a spreadsheet to keep better track of shops I've done

Challenge myself to doing different kinds of shops (i.e. maybe a hotel/venue shop, more higher-end restaurant shops)

And you guys???

My biggest goal is to increase my monthly pay to around $3,000 per month, which would be about double what I'm currently bringing in. I will continue to sign up with new companies and try new shops.
I try to do as many shops i can but for the most money. I ask for increased incentives from ALL companies and I have travel 1200 miles to do 7 shops over 4 days, And the biggest check was $ 1162. Just tel me how you are doing $ 1500 a month on a average month?
Many people have full time jobs besides MS'ing so $1500 would be good extra money towards a vacation or a splurge item.

I am glad you can work 10 hour days and have enough time to do $ 1500. I have a hard time work mystery shopping 24/7 to make $ 300
I make well over $1500 a month with MS'ing. It is about working efficiently and being VERY organized. And submitting great work, meeting deadlines and building relationships with schedulers, editors and even MSC owners.

Not that hard if you're in a large metro area...a lot tougher if you're in the boonies.

Other than one bonused trip that was about 250 miles round trip, I stayed local and did $1500 this month. It wasn't working 10 hour days, that is for sure. I currently do the majority of my MS work between 9am and 2pm.

I live two hundred miles from anywhere. I live in the four corner area of USA NM CO UT AZ so there is not the shops I had in Phoenix.
but I do not do more than 15 a month to make $ 150 to $ 400 a month. I think I work smarter just not cheap.
I drive many miles because I live in west Texas. There are cotton farms surrounding me. I've driven over 10,000 miles this year. I'm making money but I want to drive less in 2015 and maybe make a bit more money too. That would be nice, eh?

I'm crossing my fingers here. smiling smiley

I know the area fairly well but do not forget to claim those precious miles for they are tax deductible
You'll do it Canuck because you've spent time here taking advantage of the free educationwinking smiley

One of my goals is to sign up with more companies to find a greater variety of shops. For the past 3 months I have only been working with 2 of my favorite companies (shop extremely part time). My other goals is to take some shops that I normally wouldn't do just to see if I like it.
I've only been back into shopping on a very part time basis for about a month now and have made about $190, not including reimbursements.
My time is very limited, but I'm highly organized. My goal is to consistently make $200 in income (not including reimbursements) per month. To do this, I'll need to register with more companies and become more efficient with my time. From doing a lot of reading on this forum, I'm learning about how to create a route (even if the "route" consists of 2 assignments). I've not yet requested a scheduler for a bonus or to increase the fee paid because I didn't know you could. Now I know that you can, but don't know when it's acceptable to ask.
As a business owner the thing to consider is whether you feel the pay to work ratio is acceptable. If the offered fee works for you it's all good, if it's not acceptable to you then ask for more. The worst they can say is no.

My goals:
We just bought a house therefore in the spring I am building a deck.
Spending more time with my 5 years old daughter and less mystery shopping.
I am looking at retiring from my 6 am to 2 pm day job.

Willing to travel, Alberta, Canada

Not leaving the house for less than $100 is not feasible for everyone. Some shoppers work a full time job and can only fit one or two quickie shops during their lunch break. There are some days I only make $50 or so but then I've had days where I make well over $200 in one day. I am more concerned with my weekly and monthly totals rather than daily totals.
Making $1,500 per month isn't that difficult if you live in a major metro city. I work about 4 days per week and usually take 4 or less jobs per day. I rarely take a shop that pays under $20 and get many opportunities for highly bonused jobs. I always do my shops on time, follow guidelines, and report on time. This provides many chances for bonused shops. I am registered with over 70 companies and continue to apply to new companies. I can do much better than I currently am.
I'm one of those with a full time job....as I work in the city but not in the downtown area, I am limited as far as how far I can go during my lunch break and what kinds of shops I can do (we don't have a lot of choices for lunch around me) with the closest major shopping area is 20 min away.

Thus when I do mystery shop its in the evenings and on weekends when I can fit it in.....thus why I set a goal for next year to try and do 10 shops per month.

My goals for 2015 are to:
-Increase income, but maximizing the amount of spare time I have since I already work a stressful full-time job,
-Expand my network of companies and continue signing up for more. I became content this year with my small network of shops. I know for a fact that I missed out on great opportunities with other companies I've overlooked,
-Build my relationship with schedulers and other players in the MS world,
-Figure out ways to become more efficient with performing and reporting my shops.
-Plan more route during the weekends. Maybe a nice route in a different city once a month? I finally was able to try out a route in Pueblo, CO last week, just to try it out. It was a profitable route, though I got hammered by a snow storm. Regardless, I enjoyed checking out a whole lot of nothing and taking a couple of pictures while I was out there as well. So I definitely have to do this more often!

2015 goals:
~ Register with more companies
~ Increase the variety of jobs types
~ Work smarter
~ Continue to improve my organizational skills
~ And maybe . . . finally take on a car sales shop smiling smiley
Because many clients in my area resumed or expanded their video shopping programs this year, I got a bit lazy about setting up longer routes. I could fill my calendar without traveling more than about 100 miles. And, I have a recurring local circuit of about 40-45 shops in every odd numbered month that limits my travel in those months.

My goal for 2015 is to get back into long routes in the even numbered months in order to expand my video options. First step is to plan a video route from the DC area to Central Florida and back for February.

Next step willl be to nail down a route for Mid-Atlantic to New England for late spring.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Sybil2 - you have a good point. I work full time and mystery shop part time on weekends. I live in a rural area and shops are not close together unless I have route in San Antonio, 45 miles one way from me. That is why my rule works best for me. I am actually changing that to 125.00 plus, but that was before the break in gas prices. Who knows how long that will last.
