Bed Bath & Beyond shops

Does anyone know if they have moved to another MSC? I haven't seen shops for them in a while, and I need some new towels smiling smiley

I haven't seen them lately either, but I seem to recall they were slow the first quarter of last year too.

I saw them last fall for a hot minute on another site. But I haven't seen them since. The fee wasn't good either. I can't remember the MSC - not that I could say even if I did remember though.
Kate: your signature line link to your shop opportunities is quite out of date, FYI. The last one you posted was from June 2014. I imagine you've filled that one by now. smiling smiley
If not I imagine that would be a gargantuan bonus opportunity!

If so, please, please please convince the company that the bridal registry component totally defeats the shop as it is a red flag to the employees--at least how it was being done with the old MSC
the old MSC added a couple extra parts and lowered the commissions...

it was like doing 3 shops in 1 for less money...

also...you could no longer get most Harmon items at a BB shop which was discouraging for reimbursement.....

if they occassionally did the wedding registry it like they used to..it would be more normal...

but at one point it seemed like you had to do a return scenario, registry scenario, standard product scenario (like a blender) and ask about wedding rings all in one shop..
I remember one registry on a shop was something like Joe Joseph marrying Sue Susan. We might as well bring the white flag in the store with us!
So, the link to Kate's blog now brings up a post announcing the new MSC and shop fee. Prepare to be....Well, I'll let you decide for yourselves.

Noooooooo!

Gosh I hate that company. Oh well. I haven't done one in 5 years, and I will wait until they move again. I did them a couple of times for the previous company.
If the guidelines are the same, then this shop requests too many interactions and any employee with half a brain would realize they are being shopped. Will have to be crazy bonused for me to accept.
I believe this is the group of stores that the old MSC said to use a cell phone to take notes like you were texting someone so you wouldn't stand out.....but now they say don't use a cell phone.
The old company did encourage taking notes on your phone. In 2015 who still believes staying off your phone looks natural? The old company had some of the easiest narrative requirements I've ever come across and it wasn't unusual to get the shops for $20 to $40. The new pay and probability of a lot of narrative on top of a long shop is too much.

and now the item purchased must be a GIFT type item...no thanks....its one thing if I can buy a useful item (or really need a gift for someone).....but this restriction is too strict and vague...unless I can use it for a return scenario the following month!

heck I would ask for batteries or lint rollers as a gift or dish detergent...I'm not picky......but does the client and the MSC consider them a possible gift item..

I stopped reading the guidelines and am not even wasting my time to do the quiz....
also: their restriction on personal care items is poorly defined...

if you look on the harmon website, they have a tab for personal care items..implying that other items would not be 'personal care' including beauty item not listed under personal care....but i would guess they don't want you to buy any items from the Harmon section...

i used to be able to get BBB shops for $15-20 commission plus $8 useful reimbursement....now the value is only 12.50..less than half of what I used to get...
The "Gift" item could be restricted in SO many ways by the shopping company. And we are out the money.
I read Kate's post, then went to that MSC's Website and didn't see anything. I wonder if they're just doing the stores regionally.

another thing they need to clarify is carrying the object and waiting to be offered a basket..now they say you must carry it until you are offered a basket or finish the shop....the shop is not finished until you check out...so I guess you bring it to cashier and say you don't want it...but at the same time, you may be carrying the large obect, the item you want to buy, and possibly take notes
I saw a BBB shop today, but it was with a different company than the company who I have completed these shops with in the past. BBB was my very first shop in 2008.
Google can be your friend in finding out the mystery shopping companies of many clients.
the just switched companies this year...the new company did some in the fall...and then nothing for a few months...and they are just restarting for next month with the new company.....with the old company...the form crashed a few times and I had to do the whole thing again...they had no way to save sections..i hope the new one does.
I saw my first BBB shop offered today. I have been reading threads but did not know the msc. So this shop says $10 fee but in the detail when you open the job it says $12.50. The first of many things that hit me...Also 460 questions? You have to get the name of every assoc in the store? My local store probably has 15-20 people around so you need to get names even if you do not talk to them or describe them and say why no name...I cannot imagine seeing an assoc who I am not face to face with where I could get the name. So just there it seems like lots of narrative describing the person I saw for a second and why I could not read their name. And of top of all that there is the job and looking for this and that and describing an entire conversation with multiple points about a vacumn cleaner and several other conversations in various other depts including the registry. Are they for real at $10? This does not look like a piece of cake shop to me. I need a piece of cake just reading the instructions.
Sandyf - That is indeed what they are asking you to do. Plus (usually) carry a large item around to see if someone offers you a cart. And (generally) a gift registry question. And the last time I looked, you aren't allowed to take any notes while you are browsing the store. I haven't done one in years. Even for a lot of money, I am not convinced that I can complete the shop (they used to allow you to take notes if you were careful about it).

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
The old MSC used to encourage note taking on a cell phone. Hard to believe they shop also sounds like it was much easier. While they used to start for less than $10, the fees would frequently get to $20 and up plus have an $8 reimbursement.

my big issues is that you can only buy a 'gift' item...at the stores with a Harmon, you used to be able to buy from there until about a year ago....but now this new specifically says 'gift' BB does have some things like cleaning products and batteries that i could use, but really aren't 'gift items'

you must be able to take notes..but you have to observe the person, walk to another area to write the note, etc...i won't do a BBB unless I actually need some type of gift item....i could use some new window blinds..but would that be a gift item? and they also need to be special ordered so I don't know it that would count..
Yeah, I think it'll be thanks but no thanks on these unless the bonus situation develops regularly.
