WHO SHOPS WHO: Funny, but possible way to find out

There is absolutely no reason to be discussing Marjorie or sharing wild speculations on her untimely death. She was known by many mystery shoppers, well-liked and well-respected. Enough already.

Fair enough. I will obey your implied command and not put forth any more information in this directly related forum regarding a topic that potentially affects all shoppers/auditors even though this is an open case, open for discussion anywhere, relates to possible safety issues for all workers in this business, and disrespects no one at all.

I will continue to hope that someone, somewhere, cares about the death of Marjorie Hillerman and will persist in trying to learn the truth about that matter. After all, if there is even the slightest connection to any aspect of her work in this business, there may be at least a slight connection to some aspect of our work.

But as you wrote, "Enough already" for this place.

I think people might be worrying about nothing. I saw a table tent thingy in a business once from the MSC that had me doing the shop. THIS sign said something to the effect of doing customer service surveys, and a shop I did the other day requested that I look to see if THEIR customer survey signage was clearly displayed, in the shop that I was doing.

I managed a fast food about 30 years ago within a franchise "mini chain". I don't know if N=MSC's were doing them then or if it really was corporate. Except for 1 particular inspection, "WE" always had about a 2 week timeframe after a heads up that an inspection was going to be done, so we could "correct problem areas". It boiled down to a certain level of politicking, even back then. Corporate didn't want to loose the revenues generated by the franchisees, so every opportunity was given to "look" good.

Sandy, is it REALLY made of green cheese?

Cheese is my favorite food, green and blue are really fabulous. That is the reason I am up here. If you look out your window tonight you will see that a large part of the moon is gone. It is not completely round anymore. I suspect they make more cheese monthly and patch up the eaten parts so that is why sometimes it looks like a whole circle.
I thought I had found out who shopped Denny's in a way very similar to this (the certificate on the wall with the company name), but either they aren't shopped with "normal" mystery shops, the shoppers have an employee relationship, or there's a level of indirection between that company and the MSC handling the actual shopping.
I have seen the mystery shop report posted by the till in a grocery store. The name of the mystery shopping company was on it. It seems like it is not a secret from the employees.
Hi, flexy_shop_girl and Bloogers, welcome to the forum. As new members, you may not be used to our forum yet. When participating on an open forum, reading threads that get off topic is pretty common, not just with this forum but with all the others I've participated on. We have a lightly-moderated forum and many of us like it that way. Forum members say just about anything. We have some distinctive personalities here. I love the diversity of our forum and I've learned a lot. I don't mind the off-topic and I sometimes find it amusing.

What one person believes "ruins" a thread, another believes is enjoyment. There are some things posted that irritate me, too. One of them is duplicate postings. I've learned to just ignore them. Another thing that bothers me is needless criticism of others and of the posts of others. I haven't yet learned to ignore that.

I would suggest that you read the forum for what you want to read and ignore what you don't want to read. You will be happier and so will all the other forum members.

Why not stop by the Introduction section and tell us a little bit about yourselves so we can get to know you and properly welcome you.
flexy, thank you for your input. In reference, please see complete forum rules below. Bloogers, welcome to the forum.

So, does anyone know if the authorities have made a final decision on Marjorie Hillerman?
I have seen 2 reports with both the MSC's name on it while doing a shop. Both location had the report in plain sight of the customers. They were for different MSC.

I managed a Blockbuster 20 years ago. We got the shop report and identified the shopper within an hour based upon the time and register alone. The store had security cameras, but they were just there for show and did not record anything. I am sure it would be easier now...
I figured most companies knew that they were being shopped, but I was hoping that they did not know the actual MSC. I was doing a fast food shop where you have to do the drive thru AND the dine in. I did the drive thru first because your contact with the employee is so short. I waited the five minutes and went inside. Just as I sat down with my 2nd meal... The woman at the drive thru took her break and brought her snack into the dining room... She pulls out her phone and types... Suddenly, employees appear from all directions, smiling, sweeping, wiping tables, clean the restroom... As I was leaving, at least 5 people said goodbye and have a nice day...

Second time I was made: At a drive in shop. I guess they recognized my car - they make you park as close to the entrance as possible so it's hard to stay incognito... They brought my order. They checked back again and again, the car hop did all the right things... AND! A woman who had not been on skates, suddenly had a 1960's model strap on skates suddenly on her feet. And worse! At the top of my receipt, it said HOT SHOT!!!!

It just seems, to me, that if you make the shopper, you should not advertise it... That way, the next time they shop you, you already know who they are. A lot of MSCs let you shop the same location many times a week, so it's not hard to get made.
Haha I went to buy some chocolate today (non shop) at a popular mall in my area and I overheard the employees talking "the mystery shopper" before I walked in. It was pretty funny given that I had been to that store many months before for a shop and had been back since and wasn't treated any differently. They kept talking about "mystery shopper" so I guess they had no idea and were preparing. Personally, I don't care but it was amusing. Good thing they have a rotation on those shops.

Anyway when I used to do Mac's audits, one of the employees told me that they take photos of the mystery shoppers and hang them up. If one looked over the cash counter, you could see the still shots from the video camera. I think some stores get the info like times and others do not. That and some just don't bother to figure it out.

I know they are aware I am the mystery shopper at a local hardware store. I even heard them say something as such during one of my visits. I let the msc know and they told me it didn't matter. The msc alluded to the fact that I should get superior service at that location.

Another time I was looking at a posting near the elevators in a specialty grocery store. There next to the photo of the employee of the month was my report description of how the employee gave superior service.
