Pier 1, Are they worth it?

I get a lot of emails for Pier 1 Imports. and do a few of them near me. The pay is mainly reimbursement, and a token payment.

Has anyone done them?

Is the report narrative heavy?

Do they pay in a timely manner?

In short, is it worth it?

Are you referring to the order online/pick-up in store shops? I'd say those are worth it, if there is something you want there. The report is extremely quick and easy. I have not seen the regular in-store shops in a while, but to me, those were not worth the 6/10 payment/reimbursement they offered. The report required quite a bit more detail, including looking for damaged merchandise, dates on tags, etc.

There are currently two types in my area. One pays $7.50 with a $10 reimbursement. The other pays $6 with a $15 reimbursement, but it is a purchase/return. I wasn't paying attention and chose the purchase/return this month. It wasn't horrible, but I think it was too much for what it pays. I found the $7.50/$10 was less work (a little less narrative and no hassle of returning). I like the shop because it helps my gift stash.

I HATE, the return shops. I either have to make another trip OR kill the required amount of time before I bring the thing back. I count the drive/wait as part of the work hours.

The ones that I remember are the look for damaged stuff, how long does the candle burn, ones. I hadn't noticed the online one, but might have missed it, because I've been deleting them.

I'll look closer.

I don't like the return one much either and I find very little in the store for the reimbursement.

I get them too but won't do them. Not enough money and the items are quite expensive.

I don't get these shops very often in my area. The Pier 1 nearby hasn't been shopped in awhile since 6 months ago or so, or maybe I don't see them.

I feel that the shop is worth it. The narrative isn't too bad and the interactions are pretty straightforward. It's worth it if you like the store.

I used to love doing the Pier 1 shops. I did one store so often, I could tell if they removed a damaged item that I reported before.. (oftentimes, not).

I liked the experience, the merchandise and I was a pro at finding markdowns

I did my first purchase/return shop last month. With my return money I got new basic drinking glasses for the kitchen (something I needed to buy anyway).

I did one of the look for damaged merchandise shops. It was the first time that I did one of them, and it took much too long especially since you have to try to buy it at a lower price. If I do one again, it will need to be bonused. I have done other scenarios and would do other scenarios (including internet purchase) again.

I did one purchase and return and then purchase. As a matter of fact, I did three separate shops. Since it was located in a mall, I went shopping after the first purchase to kill time. I remembered worrying about the purchase receipt but if you have another item which you are keeping they usually return your purchase receipt when they give you the return receipt and another purchase receipt.

They are usually pricey but there are some which are moderately priced especially if you need them anyway. I am looking forward to doing it again. I guess what is available is the damaged type.

I do the purchase/return whenever I can. I am decorating my dining room table with fancy stuff (read => stuff I would not normally pay for) and it is looking really nice. I always purchase something I don't want first. The time between purchase and return is 15 minutes. That gives me enough time to drive to another parking spot in the shopping center, make notes on the report, then drive back and do the exchange.

So I guest I would say, that I like the shops because I have a purpose for them.
