MiMi's Cafe

So I'm looking at the shop guidelines for the MiMi's Cafe shop and there is a line that says, "MiMi's would appreciate if you and/or someone at your table would order one of these items...but it's not required...bottle of wine..."

Maximum reimbursement $20. Uhm, yeah, that's not gonna happen.

Oh, and then on the next line they add, "If you order alcohol, do not consume more than 2 alcoholic beverages during your shop."

How much is the cheapest bottle of wine? Also, once DH and I did a mexican restaurant shop where we each got one drink- he ordered a 25 oz mug of beer and I got a "Grande" margarita which was at least 2 drinks in one.
I was just wondering the other day if MiMi's cafe would pop up.
Of course, I haven't seen them in my area. I thought they were owned by Bob Evans - but I looked it up and I guess they were sold to La Madeleine in 2013.
If you have any hints on where I should be stalking, they would be most appreciated.
I just like going there. It reminds me of my Dad. They stopped serving the mini dirt pies with their kids meals. My kiddo was not happy. :-)
I took the breakfast and the reimbursement would cover the entrée and coffee. They are only paying for one meal only even if I bring a guest. :-(

Well, the Mimi's shops here only reimburse your food. No shop fee! I enjoy a free meal, but seriously! The same company just opened up shops for Popeye's, same deal. No shop fee. I inquired if this was a mistake and they said it's not. I hope no one does these freebies. I'm not into this to make a living, but seriously, my time is worth more than that.

After reading this, I logged in and grabbed a breakfast one. I noticed it says for lunch and dinner, you must also order and appetizer. But the reimbursement is the same regardless of breakfast, lunch, dinner?

I'm the only one at my house who gets up and out early on Saturdays so I'll grab breakfast.
I saw Popeye's in my area. Reimbursement only AND you had to order a specific item. I would have laughed but when I saw that most of the locations got taken quickly, I feel like crying instead.
AND it's a reveal. You have to give a reward if they do the right thing and you have to give them a "No Pass" ticket if they don't. No way for me.
I don't have a huge issue with people who accept shops with no shop fee if it's a decent reimbursement. I mean, if they don't value their time, that is certainly their thing. But! For the Popeyes, it's a $7 reimbursement, no shop fee, you have to order what they tell you to AND there's a reveal... That is NOT worth a no shop fee unless you're starving and homeless. My 2 cents...
I have said that I am willing to go to Five Guys that is on my way home just for reimbursement. I assume that there are people who like Popeye's as much as I like Five Guys. I am not going to do the Popeye's one just for the reimbursement.

It's not just the reimbursement only no shop fee that's the problem. Am I also expected to do their survey for a maximum reimbursement of $7? Not just no, but HELL no!
So back to the op...if I read you correctly this shop requests that you please think about purchasing a bottle of wine and then drink only half of it and I guess leave the rest as a tip for the server since they do not pay enough to order wine and also something to eat and definitely at $20 it is not enough for two people. I have no interest in finding out which msc offers this wonderful deal. No hints please.
These shops that are not even covering reimbursements are burning me up. I love a free meal but it is not free when there is an hour report attached. I totally refuse. Not only do they want you to go over the measly $20 but would "like" you to order a bottle of wine. Kiss my a-- several times and it would still be no.
Because of the MSC - known for their short, easy reports - I doubt the report will take anywhere close to an hour. But I wouldn't take any meal except breakfast for a $20 reimbursement. I think I can eat breakfast for $20, but it's likely only breakfast shops I'll consider.
I think I know who does them now. Some shops allow you to use coupons, and if you sign up for the MiMi's email club, you routinely get BOGO meal coupons. I don't know if this would work for this shop, but it might be worth it to take a look.
I would like to mystery shop at Mimi's Cafe but I do not know what company to sign up with. Can Someone help me out?

Hi, Mimi, welcome to the forum. Because mystery shoppers are required to sign Independent Contractor Agreements (ICA), which almost always include a confidentiality clause, we honor our ICAs by not revealing which MSCs have which clients. Our forum rules take ICAs into consideration, and our forum's guidelines prohibit revealing the clients of mystery shopping companies.

However, the Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies the forum provide provides (at the bottom of each page) does include the MSC that shops this client.
Just so you know, there is a list of items to choose from on this shop. Not just a bottle of wine. And they say the client would like you to consider ordering them, not that you must. I ordered the hand made guacamole and they brought me enough for six people. I wound up taking my entree home after I had soup too. I love Mimi's French onion soup!

Today I Will Choose Joy!

"Finally, whatever things are good, true, noble, lovely, of good report...if there be any virtue, if there be any praise...think on these things." ....It's a command, not a suggestion!
I have to tell you that I was travelling and not msing and I came across a Mimi Cafe - tried it out (KNEW that they were MSpped right away) and WISHED I knew who the MS Co was - would have happily done it for at cost......
I cannot wait to grab one of these. I've only eaten at one once. The food was pretty great and the service was horrendous.
