gate pass

OK. I don't travel much. If I get a gate pass can I go into other terminals also? I think so. It is a very big airport.

It depends on the airport. At Dulles International there is only one security screening point and once past that you can go to any terminal area. At Washington National, and a ton of other airports, each terminal has a seperate screening area and you can only use your ticket to go to that terminal.

However, if you have an airport authority-issued gate pass with your picture on it, you can use that to enter all of the security check points in the airport to get to the terminals. It will not admit you to other secure areas in the airport.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Thank you Walesmaven. I am still trying to figure out O'Hare's set-up. I have tried looking at maps and websearches. I will only have a gate pass from a certain airline.
Pony, here's a link to the terminal plan for O'Hare.

It appears that there are separate security points for at least some of the terminals. Perhaps someone who has flown out of there can shed some more light on this.

Pony- Terminals 1-3 are connected so you can access any of those terminals as long as you're flying out of one of them. Once you get past security, its just a walk to the others. For instance last time I flew out of O'Hare, I had a flight in Terminal 1, but did a shop in the food court in Terminal 3...its somewhat of a walk but not too bad. However, Terminal 5 is totally separate and you have to be leaving on certain international airlines or arriving from an international location to access it.
You can go to any terminal (domestic) if you have a departure boarding pass. You are in the "system". If you are arriving, you have no access other than where you landed.

I do this all the time. Doing it twice this week actually.

ETA: you need a ticket to do this, not a gate pass.
