Best Buy Audit

I am so scared to do this shop. Not to mention I can't even pass the test (scored a 96%). Watching the video and reading the guidelines I am still so confused and unable to comprehend what I am supposed to be doing. It seems so hard! And if I can't get it done in one day, I don't have the ability to go the next day. And I can't find the app on my tablet or my phone by searching for sassie rover I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person but is all this worth the amount of pay? Suggestions? Advices?

Mod note: Hi sjaycox11. Welcome to the forum. Please do not link the mystery shopping company with the client it shops. It is against forum rules and an ICA violation. Thanks!

I'd suggest you find a different shop to do with fewer hoops to jump through that doesn't make you so anxious about it.

Because if you have to ask, no, it probably isn't worth that amount of pay.

Do some other shops, get your confidence up with other audits, let them get the bugs out of the Rover app, and then if you feel like it, try it then.

Not worth this amount of stress and anxiety. Life's too short. Find a shop you can be comfortable with.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
On a side note to this notice the amount of shops taken is few. Very few. They are having a super hard time finding people.
Not surprised at all. I got one of their emails again today and read through it for maybe the second time.

Utterly unbelievable the conditions they put on this, starting with requiring the shopper to pay for a BG check and drug test and only reimburse it after two shops. Quite likely after doing one shop, the shopper will have no interest in doing a second shop.

I think they would do better to drop the IC approach and hire some temporary workers to go from BB to BB doing these as employees. I don't even know if there is an amount of money they could offer to get me to do this as an IC who could be booted off the project on any whim at all, having to front the testing and the travel and take a chance of the report being rejected. I'd do it as an employee because they'd have to pay me for my time whether they liked my work or not.

It's just way, way too speculative for my blood. Maybe if I lived in a metro area where there were multiple shops to do, but I'd have to travel to two different towns 100 miles from me to be able to do two of them.

They're never going to find anyone to do that single BB in a remote town without paying a heck of a lot more than they're offering.

Time to build a bigger bridge.

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
I emailed them about 2 months ago and asked if I could spread it over 2 days, and the answer was "No". Signed, The Night Owl at 2:54 AM.
Once you have done a couple, these are not really hateful. They ARE time consuming, if you do them right. The pay is on the low side for the time taken. I have only done two, because I cannot lock my dogs up for that amount of time, and have to add cost of "doggy daycare". This makes them not viable for me in the money department. If you have the time, the company will help you figure out what you need to do.

does anyone know what MS company is handling the Best Buy audits

Lol, why? So you can stay away from them?

Telling us when we can start, when we have to be done, and, now, what time we are allowed to do downstocking and to record if we leave the store to take a lunch break; I agree that more and more this seems like a job for an employee not an independent contractor.

However, it can be worth it after you do one or two and get to know what you are doing and become familiar with the store.

Also, you cut out some preparation time if you can do two or three in one month, before the guidines change.

If you live in an area far away from the stores, then it wouldn't be worth it. Also, if you are new to auditing and/or unfamiliar with retail, it just might not be for you.

There should be instructions on the MSC website to download the Sassie Rover app.

I've been avoiding doing these shops too. It just doesn't seem worth it! 100 dollars for eight hours, kneeling, standing, recording....sounds like a backache to me! lol! If they reduced the amount of time to a couple of hours for that money, I'd do it. When I can make 100 dollars for 3 or 4 bonused shops that take minutes to do, this is just not worth it.
I have done 3 and have a 4th scheduled. Once you figure it out it is not bad. I am finishing them in about 7 hours and can probably get it down to 6 after doing a few more. I enjoy the detail and not having to drive very far makes them even better.
Disclaimer: First post, I usually just lurk.

What are these currently paying? My area has them at $175 (regular pay, not bonus) and I'm wondering if this is the new norm or they are just having a super hard time getting people to take them in my region.
This is well over double the starting rate, and higher than the bonus rates in my area. IMHO, it reflects how hard it is to get people to do them. Some people enjoy doing them. I have no quibble with that,a nd wish them well. I personally like all types of bank shops and the cell phone audits (many different MSCs), and some people hate them. To each their own. If you like doing them, $175 sound much better than the starting rate of $65.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
There are a minimum of 95 extra entries on this audit. And a bunch more if the store is not perfect in all the categories. And the same pay, same bonuses. I did a few that I committed to and could not believe the extra work load. They need to start at $250.00, at the very least. Also, the mobile application has slowed down tremendously, due to the overload of data.
I have to disagree with you, purpleicee. I think the mobile app is great! Before, you had to take pictures and fill out a paper questinnaire. Then you had to enter all the information from the paper to the online form. Finally, you had to find the right pic in your gallery and upload it in the correct location on the online form. Whew! Now everything is entered directly to the app and uploaded right there on-site. Done!

Like myst4au said, to each his own. If I could get $175, I'd be all over them like white on rice!
Lisa4984, the app always worked like that. (The way you describe above.) I never used a paper questionnaire, or had to enter on the Sassie platform afterward. I always have entered directly into the app and completed the shop by submitting as I walked out the door. Maybe you are new to the app, I don't know, but I have only used the app and have done these audits since they began. The app moves slower and there are that many more questions, as I mentioned above. Those who are experienced with the audit from the beginning know exactly what I am talking about. But yes, like you and others said: "to each his own."
