Urgent Arby's question

I just noticed a problem with the Arby's shop and wondered if anyone knew the correct thing to do.

The actual questionnaire states "if the auto-greeter offers a combo, do not accept it" but the Tips to Avoid sheet says "if the auto-greeter suggests a combo, note this for your report and accept the combo offered by the auto-greeter".

Which directions should I follow?

Just hoping someone else has noticed this and has info on it. I emailed the site but it is Sunday so I don't expect anyone will read the email and the shop has to be done today.

I ran into this last round. Look at the survey. Based on the questions, I think you are safe accepting the combo offer from the auto-greeter.

Last time I did the first time and then felt I made a mistake. So on the second shop I declined the autogreeter. It made the interaction with the cashier awkward as at that point she only asked, "Do you want anything else?" And I was like, "Yeah, I changed my mind.". It was really unfair to the cashier.

If you look at how the survey questions are worded this time, I think it you're okay.
None of the location around here have an autogreeter (a few may play a sales message), so I found this discussion interesting. If I understand correctly, not only does it greet you, but it can accept orders? Presumably for multiple items? Can it deal with special requests, or does it at some point offer to get a human being for you?

The auto-greeter doesn't take the order but it greets you and usually states a special deal, etc. It often asks a question and then a real person comes on the speaker.
If the store has the auto greeter set to do the up sell, then it would sound really stupid for the cashier to repeat the auto greeter. As long as you were offered the up sell, it should be accepted.

Now, I'm not saying the job should be accepted.

They would have to pay me more than 2x an arches shop to take a bite out of an Arby's sandwich.
I'm sitting in an Arby's parking lot as I write this eating my curly fries and smokehouse turkey sandwich. My report is already done with receipt uploaded and submitted for payment using the mobile app. The manager was concerned. I couldn't tell her she passed with flying colors but it will be a nice surprise for her in 72 hours.

This store only had one window and no autogreeter. The report took five minutes on my phone. I will receive payment on June 6 because the MSC pays like clockwork. I wish this MSC had a lot more clients.
Update--There was no auto greeter so "no problem". I hope the one tomorrow goes as smoothly. I have to say the Smokehouse turkey was really good although I still can't get into curly fries. McD fries are still the best.
Arby's straight fries, which are available in DE but not in PA, are much better. Realy good, in fact. But I am not allowed to order straight fries when I shop Arby's.

I did Arby's yesterday, my first ever mystery shop. I am thinking that the company you are going through fell down on the job. Everything I got, including a final document on how not to have to redo the shop was very specific you accept the combo upgrade at the point it is made and make note of it.

If you end up at a location with an auto greeter the company knows you are not there to evaluate upsell and you would have some splaining to do if you ended up without a receipt with a combo. I wonder how many stores they have with autogreeters....google here I come.
The auto greeter here usually asked if you want a Beef 'n Cheddar combo. Any other sandwich the cashier would up sell.

Also, I noticed on the quiz for this time says order the Pecan Chicken Salad sandwich but the paperwork says Smokehouse Turkey. Anyone know which one is supposed to be ordered?

Smokehouse Turkey is for May and Chicken Pecan Salad Sandwich is for June smiling smiley
So if my shop is this week Smokehouse Turkey, if it's next week Pecan Chicken Salad, right?
i am wondering if the requirements vary by region? Mine is specific to take the combo if offered by the auto greater, in fact it says to accept whatever combo is offered by the auto greater. I am thinking that if their is an auto greater they just want the receipt to prve you were there and when.

Part of the paperwork says to accept and another part of the paperwork says Don't accept the autogreeter combo offer.
Just a funny follow-up. I did another location today and the sandwich I got today was very different from the one I got yesterday. I loved the taste of the sandwich yesterday and today--not so good. There was a large amount of sauce on today's sandwich which overwhelmed the taste and there was a different kind of cheese on it. I would have never known that they are making them differently at different locations if I had not done the two shops back to back. I don't know which sandwich was made the "right" way. LOL

Oh yes. I had one that was way over-slathered with sauce and I had another one that was just perfect, just a small amount and you could really SEE and tasted the turkey! smiling smiley
Good evening

I love Arby's and the curley fries smiling smiley

. The May sandwhich sounds good.. However May is almost over. sad smiley
When I do Arby's they have never had me order a certain thing. Just a main, a side and a drink. Oh and check on the displays to see if they are offering the meat of the month.
I have never seen that Arby's shop. Every one that I have done over the past 6 or 7 years has had very specific ordering instructions, and timing instructions that vary from year to year. And some years, I have had to count the number of soda spigots and record which soft drinks are available. The requirements in this round are pretty simple.

Every Arby's shop I ever did, had a specific sandwich to order, such as Cheddar Beef or Smokehouse Turkey Sandwich.

I was never able to order what I wanted...
I did two of these shops this week, not sure if I'll get paid. The first shop I got the first name of the manager, but not the last name. You need both. The second shop, after I got my order, I parked to check it. You have to go inside and look around to make sure the shop is clean. I noticed they did not give me a receipt. I went in and asked for a receipt. When I got it, it had the wrong price. I told them this wasn't my receipt, it's the wrong price. They printed another one with the right price. When I got home to file my report, I noticed the time on the receipt was AM...I was there in the evening for the dinner. I notified the MSC....now I just have to see if I get paid.
Update: I got an email from the company asking about the two conflicting statements in the questionnaire and the other form. I scanned the info and emailed it to them. They responded and thanked me for bringing this to their attention and said they would fix the problem.
I love these shops. Fast and easy. When the auto greeter asks if I would like to try something, I say,"I don't know yet." They don't pay very much, but when I have a full schedule its nice to be paid for lunch while out and about doing shops.
