Tips for beginning video shopper.

Hi, I am interested in the branching out into video shopping. I purchased my own equipment this week. I'm looking for tips or suggestions on to get started. I did apply for several different companies that I know specify in video shopping. Any suggestions on networking?

There are a couple of certification programs out there. Video Shopping Pros has a course every couple of months in a different city. MSPA offers a course as well. The IMSC also has classes with their conferences. Also look into the Video Shopping Network. (VSN)

If you go to the VSN site there is a way to upload a short test video for the major video MSCs to review.

This may be a stupid question but...I'm gonna ask anyway! Haha! How is the device concealed? It looked to me like they try to make it look like a button? Is that right?
It is a button fixed to screw onto the mini-camera. You modify a shirt so that the mini-cam fits thru a button hole, screw on the button cover and run the wires from the back of the camera to the little recording unit, which will fit into a pocket. A set of button covers of different sizes comes with the kit.

I did my first five video shops in the past week. Duct tape is my friend. The camera always wanted to point up so i had to tape it to my blouse to stay down. I also taped over the SD card slot ,and where the cord attaches to the camera. I lost one shop because the cord came lose from thecamera.
wozwoman,
Just be sure that you do not tape over the vent slots on the back of the button camera. The heat build-up will greatly shorten the life of the camera!

Also, you'll have better luck with the black electrical tape than duct tape. It's easier to remove and the residue doesn't build up as fast.

As usual, JB is correct!

I am correct only because I had a great mentor to help me through my first shop.
