From Mystery Shopper to Scheduler

I was searching the job boards for assignments one day when I came across a post from a certain MSC stating that they were looking to hire more schedulers. Now scheduling has always been an interest of mine since I've starting shopping and I thought that this would be a great supplement to my income. After applying, sending in my resume, completing a series of test and having a pre-interview phone conversation I was finally contacted for a final phone interview. So Im wondering if anyone had transitioned from a shopper to a scheduler and maybe give me advice as to what I can expect for this interview.

I think there are several regular posters who have been or are schedulers and have been shoppers.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Depending which MSC you might be working for, it could limit your MS'ing options with other MSCs. I don't know about their interview process.
I have transitioned from a shopper to a scheduler. It has it's positives and negatives. I love speaking with my shoppers and reaching out to them. I miss doing the field work, honestly. There's just not much time for it.

...No matter how good you are, the pigeon will s@^t on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

Not scheduling for ANY company.
I couldn't be a scheduler. I could be an editor, though. I think it's the difference between being people-oriented vs. task-oriented.

Scheduling takes patience, understanding and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Oh snap! I guess Dante is telling me I have none of those things :-p

No, just kidding. I was always good at Language Arts; I even tutored middle school kids in English for extra credit when I was in high school (talk about something that requires patience!). I would be more predisposed to editing submitted reports, rather than dealing with more flakes and nuts than Kellogg's. Hats off to the people who do it with grace and longsuffering.

In my opinion, they should ONLY hire previous shoppers as schedulers! It would make them SOO much better..smiling smiley
