Maritz doesn't understand technology

On a good day, I can chuckle and ignore it. On a bad day, emails like these and some of their others (a shop time frame is 3pm to 10pm with 8 hours from shop completion to file report and getting emails at 10:05 pm "Your Shop is overdue, please enter your report immediately"winking smiley tempt me into a snarling rage muttering about Luddites..

"Our records indicate you accepted some shops that were to be shopped more than three weeks in the future. This message is to remind you that the shops listed below are due within the dates shown."

I have never received an overdue notice email from them. The three week future assignment reminder email is no big deal. It reminds me to add my auto-assign shops to my calendar for the month. If little things like this put you into "a snarling rage," I fear what you will do if/when you have a declined report and non-payment.
Working with Maritz's technology is good training for seeking serenity through accepting the things you cannot change.
Well Stated! They pay like clockwork. They have REAL people to talk to. I like them the way they are...smiling smiley

I don't care. I don't understand it myself.

Speaking of Maritz, what is up over there? Anyone tried to contact them with an issue lately? I have sent 2 emails which have gone unanswered (ok, not really surprised there) but I have also been calling as well, although a live person used to always answer the phone, lately I just get the automated "nobody is available to take your call..." I have left 2 voicemail messages in the past week and neither of those have been answered either. Is anyone else having a similar issue?
No. Talked to them a few minutes ago...

They called me a few minutes ago to offer a $4 bonus on home improvement shops that have to be done by tomorrow. Perhaps that sheds a bit of insight as to why they can't answer calls......

That is because they know him.. I had a shop just down the street from one. They gave me a $25.00 bonus for driving 1 extra mile...grinning smiley

I've had that issue a couple of times. I wait about an hour, then call back and usually get through to a real person. Sometimes I don't get me return call until the next day.

They're not as readily available as they used to be but I do eventually hear back. On a rush deal the thing to do is keep calling.

This is regarding several invoices from 2 months ago which have not yet been paid. Maybe that's why they don't want to talk to me. tongue sticking out smiley
Yes, I'm having the same problem with an unpaid invoice from April. I spoke to Judy a few weeks ago. She promised to look into it and get back to me. She did not and now I'm told, "She's out of town." Again, no follow through. It's getting annoying. There aren't stores at many gas stations in NJ, so there would not be a store receipt. I've started to submit a piece of paper that reads...NO STORE AT THIS LOCATION...just so I don't have to go through the bs of a shop on hold for no receipt from the store. Apparently payroll doesn't have access to the reports.

Still no payment, but it didn't stop them from calling me twice today to offer me an enormous $3 bonus on a last-minute (and an hour away) home improvement shop they need completed tomorrow.
No maps? What the heck is Maritz thinking? It's bad enough they limit their schedulers by disallowing email, the preferred method of contact for the majority of shoppers, but they now hobbled them further by not allowing them access to maps? I hope that this merger or acquisition -- whatever it is -- results in upgraded operations. This is ridiculous. No maps? SMH
after the job has been sent to client when do they pay. Just wondering I had a problem with a job They never emailed me but I saw it on hold than it was submitted to the client and than on hold again for a couple of days I called and talked to someone I didn't like what she said to me than it went off hold and submitted to the client than a couple of days it was gone I checked current jobs have no jobs than I checked submitted jobs it said the job I did. I just checked again tonight under submitted jobs no submitted jobs in the last 14 days. Would that mean I won't get paid
Maritz doesn't understand technology. Really shocking. I'd think one would have to actually SEE technology in order to understand it.

Since Helen Stone retired from accounts payable, things have gone downhill. Judy says she'll fix things, but usually doesn't get them all fixed, at least not upon the first request. I have had many, many shops not paid initially because there is no store, even though I always explain in the comments box when I submit the invoice that there is no store, therefore no receipt. Also, their pay stubs are often incomplete, since they can only list job numbers for 50 jobs, and I frequently have more than 50 per check. They are always very rude when I call to request the complete job listing for a check. They tell me it's my responsibility to keep good records, which I do, but the complete job listing is the only way to find their staff's errors and locate which job payments are missing. This is the only company I know of that doesn't have payment information available on the website.
For the ones that you have no receipt as there is no store, submit the invoice as you would normally. For the receipt, include picture/scan of a scratch paper saying "store closed" or such. This shows to the computer that a .jpg (it thinks receipt) is attached.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
Thanks, I will try that, but I never could understand why they couldn't read the comments.
Glad for this post. It reminded of "Pay issue". Grrrr. You have to put the receipts in the report then lay them side by side for yet another picture to put them in the invoice or you don't get paid. If they are in the report why does't technology recognize that???

If there's no store, aren't you still buying gas and getting a receipt?

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
When I do debrands I don't get a receipt. I attach a picture of the gas station. Never had a problem.
One of their brands does not require a gas purchase, only a store purchase, and some rural locations are just card locks, so those are the ones where I have trouble since there is no receipt. I will try the suggestion of uploading a piece of paper stating that there is no store, therefore no receipt. Also, some locations of the other brands do not have pay at the pump, so the gas and store purchase are combined onto one receipt. Many times, they seem to miss that and not pay because they think it is missing a receipt.
The Accounting people do not have access to the reports, only to the invoice. And the invoice requires something as a receipt. Often the "receipt" is actually a receipt. If I am not supposed to get a receipt, I type an explanation into Word and grab a cropped screen shot submit that as the receipt. If I have a debrand, I submit a photo as the receipt, sometimes with a typed explanation (which I choose to do in PowerPoint because I know how to do it there easily). If I have only one receipt, and two need to be submitted, I generally (using PowerPoint where I can do it very quickly) create to explanations, and to each explanation, show the receipt image next to it. Two unique "receipts" which I then submit. I have never had a complaint using those strategies for receipts.

Yes, this would work, but there is a comment box when you submit the invoice, and I always explain it there, so if they would just read the comments we wouldn't have those problems. It seems that they are not well trained, and are not bothering to read the comments. The staff I've spoken with have said that they've done some retraining, and that hopefully they will stop having these problems. We really shouldn't have to make "fake" receipts just to fool the system, when it has already been explained why there is no receipt.
