Confusing

I went on one lunch shop. The company, "bestmark" had instructions that seemed to say, reimbursement for lunch for 2 plus $25. I spent $40. since you had to order 2 entrees, no apps., I got a check 3 weeks later for $25. I emailed the company and to date haven't received any answer. Is this the procedure for lunch and dinner shops for most companies. Why would anyone spend $40. and only get $25. back, use their gas, spend the hour filling out the survey?

If it is one of the same places I have been for this Company it is reimbusement only. I have never seen them add a fee on.
Bestmark's client for most of the lunch shops is ****'s. They say to fax your receipt and fill out the survey within 24 hours of the shop. What they don't say is you have to pay for 2 lunches and you only get $25. for the shop. I wanted to know if another company has shops that you get the money back for the meals plus a fee?
I havent seen many companies that will reimburse you for the food and give you a shoppers fee too. For 25.00 I would have ordered something cheap and then you might have come out ahead.
Did anyone notice that a client and a MSC were both mentioned.
I've done a few of these shops and it has always clearly stated "reimbursement up to $27 for two entrees". So even if you buy something cheap, I believe you will only get what you pay. That's what reimbursement means. If you spend over $27, you pay the difference. Also you are responsible for the tip.

And yes two mistakes, revealing client and company.
I dont do the shops that says up to a certain amount. it has to have a set price for me to even do the shop.
The only companies that I have seen reimburse for food and pay a shoppers fee are fast food shops, pizza shops, donut shops, bagel shops, candy stores, and coffee shops. I have never seen an upscale restaurant pay a shopper fee.
Bestmark restaurant shops pay reimbursement only......no fee. So if the limit is $25 and you spend $40........you get $25. If you only spend $20, you get $20.
Most casual restaurant shops are like this except some companies pay a flat fee such as JC & Associates...........there are a few (but very few) that have a reimbursement + fee.(Hooters is actually reimburse plus fee w/another ms company)
Rarely fine dining will include a fee but normally just a nice reimbursement amount.
FF shops do tend to reimburse and pay a fee though. smiling smiley

For one thing, I did one shop for Bestmark one time and I will never work for them again.
I will not do another electronic shop ever again, but I will continue to do the restaurant shops. I have never had a problem with the company and they do pay promptly.
bestfr1303 what happened on your one shop? And sorry to all that I mentioned the ms company, I didn't mention the client. I thought this was a open forum and didn't realize you couldn't mention the company. In reading other threads I did see that companies were mentioned especially when asked which ones are recommended. It still doesn't make sense to me that "restaurants" not upscale, you can't order a appetizer you have to order 2 entrees which the prices are at least $10. per, and a drink, with tax it is almost impossible to only spend $25.
Has anyone done a overnight casino shop in NJ?
I did a casino for them, and it took about 6 hours to do the shop and another 3 hours to complete the form and I got 75.00 for the shop. Some people get all torn up when you give names, but the companies dont even know who you are on this forum.
Somewhere in the real fine print of all the contracts it says you are not to reveal the clients which the company shops for. However and honestly, there is probably only a minority of shoppers that read the entire contract. I have never read everything, I only skim through them. I learned quite some time ago from this forum that you were not supposed to reveal the client information along with the company.
Yeah...I believe that you can "safely" name one or the other, but NOT both of them in any thread.
