Wow! $220 to Open a banking account in Spanish.......

You can open a checking, savings or small business account. You walk in the bank and speak Spanish and ask for help in Spanish and perform the shop only in Spanish. smiling smiley

In the most gringo-ish accent you can imagine:
Hola! Como esta? Yo estoy aqui solo para el dinero de la MSC!

That's it... that's as far as I'd get. Think I should give it a shot? winking smiley

Sure! Why not? winking smiley

The ONLY thing is don't say that 'cos the shop guidelines specify that you won't be paid if you disclose you're a mystery shopper.

This would be a step up from the Spanish funeral shops. Maybe the bank account could be where you could put the money from your funerals.

There is one near me that requires someone that speaks Cantonese.

I just got the one in English. Not as much money but still a good fee for the amount of time required. Just have to be careful about the bank fees.
I saw one a few months back for a Mandarin speaker. I considered asking my husband to do it since he's fluent but decided a blond hair blue eyed white guy was not what they were thinking of when they listed the job, no matter how well he spoke the language.

Same problem here! My son speaks Mandarin and I speak Spanish.
They really need somebody who is bi-cultural, not bi-lingual.
I was just thinking if someone did do this, then wouldn't they need to speak Spanish, Mandarin, etc. every time they go in the branch. It would really out them as being the shopper if they suddenly learned English in a short time.

I actually did one of these recently and so did my daughter. I just got paid for it and so did she. We both speak very minimal Spanish but we were able to pull it off with the help of Google Translate. I was like I will take a crash course in Spanish for the $250.00. We both got through it. The FCR's were actually really helpful and we got the paperwork in English and Spanish.
Wow! Maybe I need to brush up on my high school Spanish after all. It's like a $250 incentive to study. smiling smiley
