Five Guys Milkshake NOT Required Problem

Has anyone had the CPI state that a milkshake was NOT required and then have a question in the report about why you did not order a milkshake? I took two shops on back-to-back nights. Neither had a required milkshake purchase but one of the reports asked several questions about why I didn't order a milkshake since they were available at the location. Anyway, my report was accepted, but now those shops aren't showing up for me. I stated that the milkshake was not required in the CPI but I'm wondering if I got disqualified from those shops. Anyone else?

I don't think so. I always do get a milkshake if the location offers them, but if not required should NOT be a problem. I would imagine that you have filled your quota of those shops for this round and they will appear during the next term.
Of course. The survey is generic. I suspect they are only going to know which locations have shakes when the first shopper reports they got a shake. If one of your reports asked why you didn't order a milkshake I would suspect you mismarked a question about whether they were available. Their reports adjust 'on the fly' to throw up questions based on previous answers.

Generally I get to do any particular location only about once a month, so I am never surprised to see all other shops at the location disappear as soon as I accept the location and not reappear for a while. The exception is when they have to bonus an untaken shop, but those are infrequent in my market except the late night visits.
The first time I ever saw that question on a report, the location did not offer them at that time (several months later they had them) and it triggered a "why didn't you order a milkshake" question. I did not mismark anything but the question generated anyway.
The first location did not offer milkshakes and so I selected no for that question. The second location did offer them but then I got all these "flag" questions about why I did not order one. I have a lot of locations around me, and none are available within 200 miles. I'm suspecting there was a disconnect between whether this location offered milkshakes and the CPI. I'll wait a few weeks to see if any repopulate for me and then contact the helpdesk.
There are all kinds of reasons why someone would not order a milkshake--dairy allergies, weight concerns, diabetes...if it states it's not required they shouldn't bug shoppers about why they didn't order one, right?
Yes, and of course the weight concerns irony at eating there to begin with did not escape me, LOL. I'll have a Diet Coke with my double bacon cheeseburger with mayonnaise and large fries, please.
Ate there yesterday on my own dime. Yum! Completely worth the money, but would've been better "free". I guess I need to sign up with a few more companies to see these.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
It's a very, very well known company that is one of the most discussed companies in the forum.
I get that triggered too, "Why didn't you order a milkshake?" thinking they were going to axe the report but I always save my XXX page which shows whether you do or don't have to order one.

I think the trigger has something to do with if the location sells milkshakes. If they don't, I don't get that trigger. If they do sell them, and I don't order one (and was not required to order one) then the trigger comes up, almost as if the computer program knows they sell shakes. smiling smiley
My last dudes shop did not state there would be a reimbursement for a shake so I didn't order one. They are excellent shakes but not worth almost $5 for what is comparable to a small size at other places.

My answer to the question, "Why didn't I order a shake" was, "The CPI did not state there was a reimbursement for a shake purchase therefor I didn't order one." All the dudes shops are still showing for me.

What you said! I typed the same thing in mine. smiling smiley
Yeah, the first time I saw the message that particular location was not yet offering them. Perhaps the MSC knew that they would be soon and were just double checking that the milkshakes weren't included yet? But mine did state that there would be an additional reimbursement.
The trigger seems to be random. None of the locations in my area offer shakes. Sometimes I get asked why I didn't order one, most times I do not. All shops do eventually scroll off the status page.

They just want to know if you are avoiding the milkshake for some reason, if the milkshake was not available, overpriced, unappealing, or some other reason.
I never liked the Five Guys shops. Fortunately, I don't have allergies. They cook fries in peanut oil and serve peanuts openly. Not good for people with young children or anyone with an allergy. There is also no vegetarian food or light food available. Everything is oversized in portions and salty. The only items I liked was the vegetable grill sandwich with cheese or a plain grilled cheese.

You know how many carbs are in the fries, that will really send your blood sugar flying. 10 fries is one 15 carb serving. They give you what 60 fries? On their website they say it is 131 carbs/
I love carbs. I could never do one of those South Beach diets or similar low carb diets. I love pasta, potatoes, etc. Thank goodness I don't have any issues with it.

I have not had the veggie grilled sandwich. How was it?

I wouldn't order the veggie grilled sandwich again (not enough protein for me), but the grilled cheese with veggies you choose is good and filling. Signed, Night Owl at 5:57 pm.
Speaking of the required milkshake, I have not had a "required one" at all! smiling smiley

Even the places that sell them, I have not been required to order one.. Has anyone actually had a "yes" in the box that you "had" to order a shake?

I think it's pretty commonly known that Five Guys cook their fries in peanut oil and serve peanuts openly, so anyone with an allergy would know to steer clear. But I'm curious what having young children has to do with it? It's been proven that giving babies peanuts or peanut products at a young age actually helps prevent an allergy, it's no longer advised to wait until they're 1 year old. We took my kids to Five Guys when they were toddlers.
