Somebody took my pizza!

To be filed under moments that make you go "hmmmm": had the pizza delivered. I'm 100 miles from home, so I had it delivered to a business. Took the photos, went to wash my hands, and when I came back, pizza, box and all, gone, gone, gone!

I know I will laugh about this -- maybe in two or three years!

Fortunately, did have the receipt the driver gave me. Don't know yet whether it will be accepted, or whether I'll have to drive 200 miles round trip to do the shop over!

Got my fingers crossed on this one!

I'm sorry someone stole your pizza, that was so rude.,,, but why wouldn't the shop be accepted? It sounds like you have the receipt and the photos. Do you mean you have to report on the taste and can't do that now? I have never done a pizza shop so I am not sure what they ask in the reports. Best wishes!
The required receipts are on the box itself. They took the box!

Awesome scheduler got them to accept the driver's receipt, which does NOT include the same info as the receipts on the box.

Saved me a 200 mile drive to re do one shop of a route...not to mention the nice bonus, and the almost
$20 cost of the pizza itself!

On this shop, we don't have to report on the taste, but we do have to submit photos of the pizza still inside the box.

Thanks for the giggle. I once had that company's pizza delivered to a building where I was volunteering. I had to yell at them to "GET BACK" until I got the pics taken. I almost took a pic as a hand was reaching in to grab a piece. I guarded the box as I let people take the pizza so I could rip off the tags.
That's awful!!!! It's amazing, and not in a good way, of course, that someone would actually steal somebody's pizza! Was this a place at which you knew people well?

I'm glad your shop will be accepted; it should be, since this obviously wasn't your fault.

Does this mean if any of us have our pizzas delivered anyplace other than our homes that we need to take the pizza to the restroom with us? smiling smiley

I was told by an MSC to have pizza delivered to me at a gas station and to then take it into the restroom to take the photographs. I declined the assignment.

How dare you leave that poor pizza unattended like that! Pizzas need lots of attention, I am sure someone thought they were just helping you out.

I know it isn't fully rational, but the idea of eating food that spent time in a gas station bathroom is gag-worthy.
Do you have any idea who took your poor pie? Maybe you could scan the surveillance video at this business. May have been an inside job...? winking smiley
If I took a pizza into a gas station bathroom it would have to go in the trash (after the photos were taken - ha). I have done way too many gas station audits.

Really? I don't know why in the heck you couldn't just sit in your car and take your pictures! Even if you had to drive 1 block away. It's not like there is a timing requirement where you must take your pictures within 20 seconds of delivery. And taking pictures of a pizza in a gas station bathroom is 10,000,000 times more suspicious and attention-drawing than sitting in your car and taking a picture of something.
Scheduler pushed the report through -- LOL, with a 10!!!! Awesome scheduler (I would give a shout-out to her, but that would be like a violation of forum rules, I think).

And yes, I felt it was 100% my fault. 100%.

I did have someone steal the license plates off my car once, while I was doing a FF shop. I now sit where I
can keep an eye on my car when I'm doing a dining shop!

I'm not sure about this particular company, but it is usually editors that push reports through. Schedulers aren't generally the ones that make the call on what can be accepted.
I have had schedulers push reports through, at least they get in touch with the right person to OK it. I think if you are a good reliable shopper and the scheduler knows you they will bend over backwoods for you. I have had some awesome schedulers.

Not to mention it was a cheesy thing to do.

Not to mention they get paid based on whether you complete the shop. winking smiley
What type of business was it? I've seen those notes that you can have your pizza delivered to a business, and there's a pizza place that's not that far from me that gets bonused a lot, but I'm not in that location's delivery zone (off by about a half mile) and neither is my workplace, so I was thinking about it but couldn't think of anywhere to have it delivered.
One of the MSCs has suggested that I have pizza delivered to a park (sure, and if it is raining on the assigned day, then what?). To the parking lot of an office building where I arrange to meet them in the parking lot (and where do I take the required photograph - in the trunk of my car making sure that the lighting is perfect and I am at exactly the right angle). And other places such as a gas station (as I mentioned above, so that I can go into the nice dry bathroom to take the photos - I was told that lots of shoppers use gasoline station restrooms as their photographic studios).

I'm not sure the pizza shops are worth it to me to go through all of those shenanigans. I take them so I can feed myself and my husband and get reimbursed. Or maybe you guys have some negotiations going on with the MSCs so you get paid more for them.

Have you ever tried to take a picture of a pizza on the back seat of a Saturn? There isn't enough focal length to get the pizza in without the camera touching the top of the inside of the car. The trunk is no better since the lid doesn't go up far enough. I have been reduced to putting the pizza on the sidewalk to take the pic. LOL
If I were to have a pizza delivered to a business I'd use a laundromat. Take a laundry hamper full of clean damp towels and throw them in a dryer. Then order a pizza. No one will look twice when the pizza arrives.
After the driver leaves, open the box, label as needed and take pictures. In light of ceasesmith's experience I recommend photographing or removing the receipt labels before visiting the restroom. smiling smiley
Load up the dry towels & fresh pizza and head out.
I agree with Cecilia! Unless you all are getting paid way more than base for these shops, it doesn't sound worth the hassle....

This week I had pizza delivered to Victoria Secrets at the mall, some vet clinic and a grocery store. I take the pictures in the back seat (SUV) or on the hood when driving the sports car.
This is kinda off topic but I have a person that I work with that she has Jimmy Johns deliver to where she works sometimes..
I took a pizza to my husband at work this week (he was staying late for additional training). I was busy that night and didn't sit down to do my report until around 9 and panicked because I realized I didn't grab the receipt off the box! I made the poor guy go back to work and he dug the box out of the trash just before the housekeeper got to them! Phew! smiling smiley
