Is Mystery shopping an addiction

I like mystery shopping because I learn a lot about things that I knew nothing about before

In all seriousness, I've come to believe over the years that there's a particular personality type that excels at MS...and to them it can feel like an addiction at times. Perhaps more of an OCD thing.

For me, it's sometimes difficult to see a shop in my area that needs a shopper and not sign up for it. Even when I know that have a full schedule already or don't really like the client.

Steve, I agree completely. Thanks for being able to put my sentiments and slight personality disorder into words! I'm especially guilty of over-booking myself this month. I recently signed up with a lot more MSC's and downloaded a few of the mystery shopping apps, so if I see a shop within walking distance of my house, I really can't help myself. I have a ton of work to do right now, which is naturally why I'm browsing the forums. Anyways, thanks for affirming that I'm not the only one out there suffering from this rare affliction "Mystery Shopping-Induced OCD"

My husband and I are without our four children (ages 12, 10, 9, 2) for a few days....He suggested a lunch date tomorrow. My first thought...let me see what lunch shops are available near his work...aahhhhh. I am addicted. (I did stop myself from making our once a year date into work!)

With that many kids, may I suggest you seem to have a different sort of addiction.....teehee
Yes, I am totally addicted. I love mystery shopping. I do tend to have a lot of OCD tendencies so that may be why. It is fun and I am willing to do some work on reports in order to get a free meal in the end.
My sister's new grand baby was born last week. She sent out a text to family. My brother replied: "Make sure you record what time you entered and left the hospital, the exact greeting you got from the nurse, if the lighting was comfortable... Oh wait! That's for a shop!" So, at least for my oldest sister and my brother, yes it is addictive! My sister stalks me on here so I'll be expecting a call soon!
Besides being addicted I have been educated on lots of different things. I now know what accessories come with some weed eaters, and what a belly mower looks like as well as how it comes off the mower. I have found out which refrigerators are the most popular and which have the most complaints I could go on and on. I love doing the shops and have seen so many things I would never have seen had it not been for these jobs. I love it.. My only regret is that I did not start years ago.
I havent had a day off in weeks. I keep telling myself I'm going to take some time off but I just cant stop myself from checking my email, or I'll get a call from a scheduler offering me a bonus. I've only been doing this for a few months and Im already clearing over $1,000 a month. I love this job!!!

Yes it is. I rejoined the work for 3 months ago but can't stop doing my favorite shops. I have a week long stay in Disney shop with all meals included next month and I will hopefully have that shop assignment for the rest of my life.
Perfectly said. Like the fun not the reports.
Here's a sign if you are addicted. Do you check the MF website more than twice a day to find available shops?
