hotel shops

Hi,
I recently signed up for a hotel shop. I wanted to know exactly what the report required. I want to have an idea of what I am getting myself into. I would hate to lose my money for the night stay at the hotel and still not get the pay. I am just wondering if anyone has any tips as to what i need to look out for or pay extra attention to. Appreciate any help you can offer.
Thanks guys!!!

Start with relatively inexpensive hotels with the expectation that you may end up footing the bill. When your report is accepted, be happy you did a good job.

That being said, MSC's really don't want to reject a report. It's a huge waste of time for them and makes them look bad to the client. They will not likely offer you a job that they don't think you can handle. They'll expect a writing sample before they assign anything anyway. Try not to worry too much. Most MSC's that handle hotels are very good to work with.

The report requirements are going to vary from MSC to MSC and client to client. I've done some that are purely hotel service evaluations, some that included food (some of which was evaluated and some not), some that want extensive room inspections and some only a cursory inspection, etc. They're all different.

My best suggest is to read, reread and read again your instructions. Make a list of required photos (and they can be plentiful). And start filling out the reports while in your room; I try to complete everything but the departure evaluations before I even leave the hotel.

Shopping central Arizona.
A large part of a hotel evaluation is most often multiple bar and/or restaurant evaluations which, if you think you're ready for a hotel, you should already be very good at.

I have done lots of restaurant and retail shops and the only hotels I would attempt are the ones on ACL. They are relatively normal in price and the requirements do not seem to be above my head.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
Except there's no fee with ACL's hotels. Even Buckalew's "Beginner" shops have a fee attached to them.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
Now now. The ones that require you to sit through the entire evening reception and visit breakfast 5 times including being there when they open pay $20!
