Gig spot

I'm not a fan of the new gig spot app. I signed up today and this is similar to presto Insta shop. It allows you to see the shops that are in your area. The problem is that when you go to the individual companies that you are registered for ...it when no longer allow you to see their job board. For example, I logged in to measure this afternoon. I was automatically directed to the gig spot app but I couldn't access all the shops that were on the measure job board.

This is crazy. I'm unable to log in to some of the company websites I'm already signed up with, can't search for jobs on another. Which wouldn't be too terrible, except on GigSpot there's no way to see jobs jobs more than 100 miles away. Not good. This will not work for me.

Same thing just happened to me. When I signed up for the Gig Spot, I used a NEW LOGIN & PASSWORD, different from the one I have regularly with my Shopmetrics companies. So I went to my Shopmetric company, in this case Alta360, and signed in using the Gig Spot Login & Password, and VOILA! I got in!!

So try that, and see if it helps
....but otherwise, the Gig Spot has too may quirks for me...I'm going to try and see if I can uninstall! Good luck on getting in!

ETA: I just sent an email to them, asking HOW to CANCEL Gig Spot so I can just go back to using my INDIVIDUAL Logins & Passwords for my individual Shopmetrics companies. I am SORRY, SORRY, SORRY that I signed up with this!!

Thanks. I can get into the other sites using the password I chose for GigSpot. (But I can't search for jobs from the other sites.) The GigSpot site, which is designed to be mobile-friendly, is not bad. It makes it easier to see jobs from many different MSCs in one place. I like that. But still, the distance limit bothers me, and there is no way to change the search radius. I don't see a way to unistall the app. I guess I can go the email route.

I see what you mean!! Once I get into the individual Shopmetric company, the ability to search for jobs is TOTALLY GONE! There is a small note at the top saying since I am signed up with GigSpot, I have to search for jobs via that route!! This TOTALLY SUCKS BIG TIME! I also can't see a way to uninstall the App...I even read thru the Terms and Privacy sections...nothing!! So I hope to hear something back from the email I sent them. IF and WHEN I ever do, I will post here!!!!
Right. Anyone who travels long distances and wants to search for shops in other areas, be warned: You will totally lose that ability with participating MSCs that use the Shopmetrics platform. Other than that, the GigSpot platform looks great, and will probably be quite useful to new shoppers and shoppers who stick close to home. I'm sure it will help the participating MSCs attract new shoppers as well.
Well, I've been doing some research, and have learned that a company called Research Metrics is responsible for developing this app. They are located in Toledo, Ohio, as is Shopmetrics. I believe they even have the same address. I have a 1-800 # and a regular local # for both them and Shopmetrics, and have called...of course they are closed, but the voice messaging confirmed the company names. I will try Saturday morning to see if they are open, if not, I will call on Monday. My problem is I installed this on my laptop, and there are NO FILES on my computer to uninstall the stupid program!! I just want it OFF my laptop and get back to using my
individual Shopmetric Companies!!

I even looked to see if I could try a System Restore, and would have restored my computer to a time before I put the program on my laptop....my most recent Restore point is January!!! Ugghhh!
I emailed their customer service person...under the help function. He tried to explain how all of the companies have their jobs on one platform. I emailed back and said I understood but that the search function doesn't allow you to see everything available. I asked him to deactivate my account. I couldn't find a way to do this on the app or webpage itself.
I tried everything to change my password as suggested above on the gig spot website. Guess what! My password was automatically changed on the shopmetrics companies I was already using. The only thing that will work is deactivating your account. ASAP!

Yes, and I have an email to them asking HOW to do this!!! Their offices are closed this morning (Sat), so I will call them Monday morning, for sure, if I don't get this deactivated by then!! HELP!!!
If ANYONE reading this knows HOW to deactivate the Gigspot account from a laptop, PLEASE SHARE!!!
I have been communicating with someone from Shopmetrics via email today....he is promising to have me deactivated from the GIGSPOT APP by 6 pm ET.....I have suggested that the programmers of this App ADD SOME FUNCTIONALITY to the App to allows users to self-deactivate!! Let's hope they do so.

I will report back if I do indeed get deactivated from GigSpot and can go back to just using my Shopmetrics job boards individually. This App just wasn't for me. I hope others may find it useful, but for me it wasn't. What was even MORE frustrating was the inability to self-deactivate from the App!! That should never have happened!!

If anyone wants to email him, his first name is Joseph....here is his email addy:
JHashim@shopmetrics.com
Well, Joseph at Shopmetrics has FINALLY GOTTEN ME DEACTIVATED from the GigShop App!!! Phew!!! But I am left with ONE SMALL QUIRK!!!

I can NO LONGER LOGIN to my INDIVIDUAL Shopmetric companies using my INDIVIDUAL Logins/Passwords. I STILL have to login to each individual Shopmetric company USING THE GigSpot App Login/Password that I had when I setup the App!!! I've emailed Joseph asking if he can somehow REVERSE that, so that I can use my
original logins/passwords. I'm hoping he can fix it.

But at least I can NOW SEARCH for jobs and do ANYTHING ELSE I want to in EACH individual Shopmetric company!! WOO-HOO!! (I also recommended to Joseph that he find a way to allow individual users to self-deactivate from the App if it is not a good fit for each individual person...I hope he does that!!)

What a HEADACHE THAT was!!
I want to thank all of you people for being a beta tester on the gig spot site. Now I know to avoid it.
This is not the beta version. I was unknowingly made a beta version tester about a month ago and it was such a nightmare especially since I was blocked from accessing the individual websites to submit my reports. There is no way for you to deactivate yourself unless they recently added that feature. It took them days, I think four days to be exact, for them to remove me from the beta program. I had several overdue reports but I was in communication with my schedulers and editors.

You are SOOooooo right when you say there is no way to deactivate yourself!!! Thankfully, my email reached the right person at Shopmetrics, and he spent the better part of yesterday (Saturday) getting me deactivated.

Once I was deactivated from GigSpot, and was able to log into my individual Shopmetric sites (AT FIRST having to use the GigSpot login/password), I was able to CHANGE my password to my ORIGINAL password that I had setup when I originally signed up each individual company, and then after I logged out, I was FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY able to login with my ORIGINAL login and ORIGINAL password!!! All is back to normal....but WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! Who makes an App you can't deactivate yourself from???? That's just CRAZY!! Phew....just glad it's OVER!!

Has anyone yet been able to get out of gigspot?? Most of the companies that are listed on their website seem fake. And I think that because, a few of them, while describing who they are, and certification tests and material, have SOOOOOO many spelling errors. I find it hard to believe that a real company would allow so many spelling and grammatical errors. I don't trust companies like that. One of the companies, on their description page, say something like, "When our clients ask us to jump, we say how high. That is how much we want to get our clients approval", or something like that. That is just weird, and very unprofessional. Plus, like others are saying on here, the closest shops are 40 miles or further away. I already shop for ACE and Alta360, and they have plenty of jobs within 10 miles of my home. But now with gigspot, there's nothing?? I emailed them and told them to remove me from their system due to so many problems with their site.

Has anyone signed up for this? I got an email from Alta360 about this. So I signed up. Now, when I went to a Shopmetrics platformed company, when I went to click on their available jobs, I got this message:

"You have a GigSpot.com account and you can only access this functionality on GigSpot. Click HERE to proceed to Gig Spot."

When I clicked on the link just a blank web pages showed up. If I knew that I would be 'locked' out of looking at an individual company job board, I wouldn't have signed up.

Please read several posts above for the email of the person who helped me by deactivating my GigSpot account. Perhaps he will do the same for you...it's several posts above yours.
Hello Shoppers,

You will be receiving an email shortly which will explain how you can revert your GigSpot account back to a classic account. This will allow you to work with the individual websites of the mystery shopping providers, just as you have in the past.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks

Joseph
HI PA shopper- I live in PA as well! Harrisburg to be exact. I'm from Palmyra though.
Anyone sign up for this? I didn't realize when I signed up that it would cause all my other accounts of their partners to be combined. I do not like it as shop reports aren't loading, instructions aren't loading, and I cannot search areas like I could on individual pages or put in distance! Help. Is there a way to undo this ? I would rather go oldschool and log into each of my accounts because I travel a lot.

MegglesKat
I had signed on with Gigspot last night and tried it. Didn't like it and logged into the Forum to see what others were saying. As soon as I read this thread, I immediately sent an email to Gigspot and this morning they responded stating that they had deactivated me. I will though probably have to reset my passwords for the MSCs.
Thanks for the head's up. I am technologically inept, and would have been totally lost.

Thanks!
