Ok you hotel shopper professionals. I am doing a Courtyard tonight. The instructions are different than the standard Courtyard. It includes a bar and breakfast buffet report instead of the Bistro sections. In the notes it says the location should have a standard bar and buffet breakfast similar to a full scale Marriott. Then in big huge letters it says to call Shawn somebody IMMEDIATELY if you show up and it has a Bistro. Well obviously I get here and there's a Bistro, because my last name isn't Griffin it's Murphy. So I call and it's just the standard telephone number for the company and there's no Shawn listed in the directory and so I hit the extension for shopper needs immediately assistance but I got voicemail. Someone gave me a cell phone to txt that might get a reply but nothing yet.

Has anyone had this situation? Common sense says do the standard shop. But common sense also says always follow instructions.

You must be working off of old guidelines. Shawn no longer works there; it has been at least several months. There was a new girl but I don't remember her name.

I had a similar situation with a different shop....After three months, I'm still fighting to get paid for it.

And, I'm still waiting for somebody to return my call asking for help.

Such the positive attitude and nice language. I never called you stupid or dumb. I never said that you were purposefully working off of old guidelines. It sounds like the MSC has not updated their guidelines. I thought I was being helpful (which you seem to be preaching lately) by letting you know that Shawn no longer works there.

As far as which posts I am "allowed" to reply to, you are not that naive. I can reply to whatever thread or post I like. Why don't you just toggle me? It will help keep your blood pressure down. Peace out!

"They must have given you old guidelines" would have been the correct way to phrase that, but I suppose understanding the nuances of the English language is too much to ask. Reporting that Shawn no longer works there was not helpful as I did not have contact information for this Shawn person anyway. So yeah, trying to be helpful, weren't really very helpful.

I really like you a lot AM, you're a super nice person and often give sage advice, but to be quite frank if you are going to publicly admonish me when I post something over the top I think you should publicly admonish others when they go over the top too.

I adore you, bgriffin. You are one of my favorites and I love your posts. But I admonish anyone who posts needless @#$%&. in open forum. I'm sure you may not have noticed my scoldings of others, but I've certainly made them. Unfortunately, it's just kind of nosy old broad I am.

13 Days ago Sybil made a very rude post about Irene having dementia. That post remained until this morning when I complained about it. My post last night that was actually serious and not attempting to be rude at all was deleted almost immediately. Yes that is favoritism.

Sybil gets away with it because she is mostly mean to people who are less popular and she says the things that some people would like to say if they were that mean. They look the other way because it gets their dirty work done without them having to do it. And they can just laugh it off to Sybil bring a queen b again.

As for AustinMom saying she does admonish people who go over the top I saw no public admonishment for that.

As for all the people send me PMs, you are part of the problem. If people had the balls to stand up and publicly say yes there is a problem here instead of PMing their support perhaps something could be done.

As for the anonymous moderation of this board, when I first joined I wad absolutely amazed that forum members would be ok with anonymous moderation and I believe there was quite a discussion at that time. This is what I was talking about. I believe if this is truly going to be an open forum I should br entitled to a discussion with the person who removed my post as to why it was removed and why other posts remain.

I am guessing that this post has crossed over the line of what they would like discussed here though and this thread will most likely be closed.

bgriffin, for what it's worth, when I read Sybil's response about having old guidelines, it didn't sound accusatory towards you. I've done several assignments where the guidelines are outdated. I interpreted it as Sybil suggesting that perhaps the msc gave you old guidelines. She even went so far as to mention that Shawn was no longer with the msc and that another person was. It sounded to me like she was being helpful. Just an observation from an outsider looking in.

Thanks @DareWright but this has little to nothing to do about that particular post.

I'm not going to go into my opinion about Sybil or other posts. I'm just wondering...if someone other than Sybil had written about outdated guidelines, and had written the exact same words, would you still get offended?

Bgriffin...I toggle Sybil, so didn't see I have Dementia (WOW), for a person who doesn't know me to have such hated and tell lies is beyond human. There must be something going on, some payoff that entitle's such a trash mouth to continue. I am shocked AM goes along with it. We used to be friends, but her behavior regarding Sybil2 shows her true colors. I'm not trying to understand it, but I will find the thread and get resolve.
Her dislike for the senior generation is fine, she will be there one day. I'd rather have had my life, raised my daughter than have had her life, one has to be miserable trying to put all other's down., name calling, have never seen anything like it. I actually had to deal with a close friend getting Dementia (it is no joke).
They can't drive, live alone, quality of life demoralized, but my favorite saying is: "What comes around goes around". I have not seen Sybil2 post anything about shopping, does she actually shop, she is not on here for helping others. Thanks for enlightening me, when she's done with me, there will be another, not to worry. AM is the Moderator, shame on her!!

edited to add....I was not on a forum for the first three years of Msing and did fine. I can be a bit snarky, but never cruel, and hopefully humerous (I'm told). My choice wheather I want to continue taking abuse, or go to the beach, pool, have a nice Cosmo....your guess!!

While I have already said that post is not the issue I am trying to discuss I will still answer your question, even though you did not give me the same courtesy.

The post was not helpful. It did nothing to help solve my problem of which set of instructions to use. It was irrelevant information. The guidelines given to me were the guidelines given to me. They could be old, they could be new, hell they could be next year's, that still would not have solved the question of what to do. Additionally I had no contact information for Shawn. Knowing that he no longer worked there also was irrelevant as I did not have any way of contacting this person either way.

Had someone else made the same observations I would have just ignored them. But in a similar vein, if two children ask you an annoying question, one of which asks you annoying questions continuously and one doesn't, are you going to get equally annoyed?
